rash

Its late and I'm tired so please excuse typos and rambling .

My dd who is 2 has been getting a rash on her legs. I think it *could* be a contact rash. We moved and I used a oxyclean on the carpets, which I never do. But the carpets were really bad and I did try more natural things first and it wasn't working. The rash started after we moved here. At the same time we were very busy moving and I let the kids' diet slip considerable toward cereal and lots of gluten. I do gluten free because of gut issues and have mostly kept my two year old dd gluten free too. She has had intermittent troubles with constipation a few times and withholding poop. This seemed to coincide with having eaten gluten, but was easily brushed off as coincidence. She started withholding again (not constipated) after moving here. Then I cleaned up the diet and the rash went away and she started pooping willingly again. However I also cleaned the carpet with clear water several times.

Today we went on a walk exploring the neighborhood and ended up at Dairy Queen so I bought all three kids a chocolate ice cream cone. Soon after I noticed the rash was back on her legs. I'm telling myself it could be from the heat or maybe it was already back and I didn't notice it yet. I have three kids though and from my experience this does not look like heat rash. But surely if she was reacting to gluten with a rash it wouldn't have been so immediate, right?

Hey, I didn't know you blogged
My friend with a ds who is gluten sensitive said that her ds gets a rash soon after eating gluten. I'll ask her how fast it happens.
I was sure (and hoping I was right!) it was the carpet cleaner!

I don't know much about gluten stuff. I just found out it's ok for us! (I didn't tell you, I finally got to baseline! woohoo!) I hope it's just coincidence. Though, if she's got to be sensitive to somethingm maybe it's easier if it's something you're avoiding too. And I think lots of kids outgrow gluten sensitivity.

Hey, did you figure out all of your sensitivities?

About the blog, ha, I'm not really blogging, rather I started a blog, then haven't really touched it much since moving, lol.

Today the rash is much better already, nearly not there at all. And she didn't actually eat much ice cream at all plus about two nibbles of cone. I'm not sure if it was related if the amount of rash would be more if she ate more and less if she ate less, kwim?

And yeah in some ways it would be easier to be sensitive to something I'm already avoiding for myself, BUT nobody else in the house is. So that sucks. There's pretty much always something gluten in the house that she *might* see and want. She's good about accepting alternatives for right now.

I really haven't changed my diet at all yet.

I asked my friend, and she said "within 24 hours" so that doesn't give you an answers. lol.
Though, I think Jonah reacted to banana, and if so he got a rash within an hour. The only other thing it could have been was pear, but we'd been eating that for days prior to him having any rash at all.
