Can I use garlic for a yeast infection in TWW?

I am currently 2dpo and suddenly have a yeast infection-haven't had one forever, but I've been eating too many grains and too much sugar. Usually I use garlic inserted in the vagina, and it works almost right away. Is there any reason not to do this during the TWW?

TIA!

i cant imagine why not. yogurt tampons work too. between increased bd'ing and fertile cm with lots of glycogen, yeast is more common around o time too.

Yes, no problem

You do like garlic though, do you? I was absolutely stunned by how I could taste it in my mouth moments after inserting it somewhere quite far away from my mouth! Within half an hour, the stench was oozing out of all my pores too. I HATE garlic so this was pretty awful for me!!!!!!!

Wow, that's interesting! Nope, can't taste it, or smell it coming from my pores. But I love garlic. And it works SO QUICKLY for me for a YI. I inserted it about 4 hours ago, and the itching is gone already. I usually only have to do it for a day, sometimes two, and no more yeasties. I do need to watch my sugar consumption, though, or it will come back.

Interesting! Do you just use a garlic clove?

Yep, I just peel a clove and insert it.

I've never had a YI before but I'm definately doing this if I ever get one! And telling anyone I know who has one.
What are yogurt tampons? Just dip them in yogurt and insert them?

Yes. I tried that once, didn't work nearly as well as garlic, though.

Cool. Maybe you need special yogurt. Probiotics maybe?
yeah, dip a tampon in yogurt with active cultures. but it sounds like the garlic works quicker. the yogurt usually works in 2 days, though, which is still pretty good. eat some too. even better- maybe dip a tampon in tzatziki sauce- you know, the greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic dressing. new slogan "tzatzkiki- it's yummy, and it fights yeast infections, too!"

Awesome. I love natural remedies.

Can I use garlic capsules so long as the capsule melts/disinigrates vaginally to treat a yeast infection? I have tried pro-biotic capsules but they aren't working as quickly as I would like them to. I just can't stand the thought of fishing around for garlic gloves or tying string around garlic and gauze etc. Would the gel caps work just as well or even be ok to use?

I think that would be fine, Mainemommy.
