How long will tallow last at room temp?

I've made a bunch of tallow and put it in jars. How long will it last at room temperature just sitting on the shelf? I don't have room in my fridge/freezer for it.

Well, I did this with lard probably 2 years ago, and I still have a couple jars and it's fine. I did hot pack them and use new lids so that they vacuum sealed though.

I rendered some a while back, before I realized that some (maybe everybody?) recommend refrigerating it, so I just put it in the pantry, I think I took about 6 months to use the last jar and it tasted and smelled the same as the first, best I could tell.
