Hi everyone!
This is my first post and I'm wondering if I could get some advice.
I am 35 years old and have always had good teeth (no fillings anyway) but for the last 4 or 5 years I've been getting dark brown areas on my back lower teeth, close to the gum line.
However, it seems that the brown areas are starting to appear on other teeth now. At my check up the other day, the dentist seemed quite concerned about one tooth in particular and showed me the x-ray where there is a cavity that looks close to a nerve. He took another x-ray to confirm if this is the case, but I won't find out about this until my next check up in 4 weeks time. He said the worst-case scenario would be that the cavity would spread to the nerve and that could result in having a root canal. I'm now terrified! I definitely don't want that.
So I'm looking for advice on what I can do to halt/reverse this demineralization process. I should mention that for quite a few years I was addicted to dried fruit (esp. figs) and ate, well, quite a lot. I had Candida issues which I'm not convinced have totally cleared up and my view is that this has contributed to the current state of my teeth
I'm now thinking I need to totally overhaul my diet, but is there anything else I can do? I currently brush with toothsoap. I take Vitamin D and am now considering also CLO. Have also seen mentioned on here Uncle Harry's remineralization powder and have been researching products with Novamin, though all the toothpastes containing it have glycerin.
