local malden fleece on sale..what to buy?

My local fabric outlet has a huge supply of malden mills fleece on sale right now. Nothing is marked with weights or names (except malden) so I'm hesitant to get anything. They also have some malden chamois fleece. Is this good for liners? They did have one large bolt of spongy, thick fleece that was smooth on both sides. Could this be windpro or one of the heavier weight ones that is good for a cover or AIO?

I should be getting my malden mills from sew shoppe tomorrow, so I should wait till I have something to compare it to...but I wanted to get over there and buy some before they sell it. The prices are awesome 2.99-4.99 a yard!! If it is the right stuff, I'm willing to do a little co-op if anyone is interested.

Wow what great prices! I live near the outlet so I just go there. Most likely, they have 100 and 200 wt fleece. The windpro that I got has a 'regular' fleece side and a smooth - almost velvet side.

I saw a good hint somewhere around here about checking whether or not a fabric is waterproof. Buy a small piece, then test it at the water fountain or bring a water bottle. If it works, buy more!

And where do you live, may I ask? I would love to shop at your outlet!

Never thought to do a water test on it...good idea. I'm in Minneapolis..we have lots of good fabric outlets here. I didn't have a chance to go back there today, but I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks

Wow, I just bought a lot from a friend who makes diapers professionally (who shall remain nameless) and she left me with the samples that the company had sent. Now, fyi, she said that she had bought some MM fleece prints that was not a good diaper maker (imagine that). It was a green with stars and red dots on it, she said it got pilly. So beware of that one....she brought another one over that had a very similar model number to that one which we had not ordered due to its numeric similarity to the yucky one and she doesn't think that they are the same....I personally cannot see the difference, but that is why we pay her the big bucks to make them for us....

I bought 2 yards of WP from her and it took up the bottom half of a big garbage bag....it was heavy! maybe 300 wt wp?

Good luck and let us know....coop (once I have used some of this stuff, would be good...or even a trade...
