Dust mites in a carpeted house with no a/c

Jeez, what a mess.

We need to start a dust mite prevention routine b/c of DD's allergies.

However, our house is 90% carpet, with no A/C.

We're going to cover the mattresses, pillows, and get a HEPA vacuum... but what the heck else can we do? I feel kinda trapped.

Can you run the fan on your furnice a couple times a day so it circulates that air? That may be a stupid idea as I don't know if that will help, but I know when we run ours it doesn't blow hot air.

Hope it helps, otherwise for advice I would vacuum at least 2 times a day at least in the begging so you can get them under control.
