apple cider vinegar - sediment

I made a point to order organic "with the mother" ACV (Eden brand) though I don't even know what that means, lol.

There's a fair bit of sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Do I just leave it or try to swirl/shake it back in?

"mother" is the culture responsible for making it vinegar. the sediment is mother of vinegar.

if i am drinking the vinegar or using it as a hair rinse, i DONT shake. if i am using it in a recipe that will be left to ferment for a bit, i DO shake it so a tiny bit of mother will make it into the recipe.

The sediment is the mother (where all the probiotics live and reproduce), and I always shake or swirl. Enjoy!

thanks, ladies! Good to know about the sediment. So now I want to find out how to use it and make my own acv, but will restrain myself
