21 day cleanse while BF?

Thread Starter
I saw there was a thread in April but I didn't see what I am looking for...Good recipes and see if anyone else has done this BF. Lately, I haven't been feeling so great; joint pain and total loss of energy and I thought it might be diet related. I decided to do the cleanse (vegan-no sugar-no caffeine-no gluten) and see how it goes with the thought that if my supply is affected at all I would quit. The first day was awful; I had a migraine from hell, the second I had a headache all day but it was bearable, third day the same and today I feel more energetic but still have a lingering headache. Also, my breasts feel empty but my DD seems to be nursing the same amount during the day with same number of wet diapers but nursed more during the first two nights (last night was more normal). I made a rough plan for every day so I wouldn't get caught hungry and to make sure I get enough calories. I feel like I am doing ok but just wanted to make sure about the supply and get ideas from "practiced" vegans.

If the only thing you are doing to cleanse is going chemical/ sugar/ gluten free- that sounds great! If it was a cleanse that involved not eating and drinking only lemon water, that would affect you both. The migraine is what happens during caffeine withdrawal IME (I quit caffeine in 1999 and do not wish to go back, ever- I was a 4-6 can Mountain Dew a day drinker- slept for 2 days, had a headache for 2 weeks and horrible cravings that would lead to salivation for 2 months) I am not sure what to say about what to eat... Lately I have enjoyed my homemade hummus, which isn't really hummus, I just soaked and cooked some dried garbanzo beans, then cooled and put in food processor with some garlic and salt. since I am the only one that likes it here, I froze it in individual servings in the freezer. I eat it with raw veggies and on baked organic corn chips. I also like to take an avocado and mash it up, then add some Amy's salsa and stir. If you eat mayonnaise (homemade is best) add a bit of that, then use it for baked corn chips (garden of eatin). Vegan would mean dairy/casein free also, right? If so, you can use Daiya (vegan) cheese on the chips (melt under broiler for a minute or two), it is the only cheese replacement worth buying IMO. I keep a mix beside me all the time, it has walnuts, pecans, raisins, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, and Enjoy Life chocolate chips, along with a glass quart jar of water. I eat a lot of spinach which I quick cook on the stove in a tiny amount of water, then add vinegar and salt. I make a 'keep you alive' goulash at times too which consists of lentils, canned tomatoes, rice and a vegetable like zucchini or broccoli... I use dried lentils and cook them up, then add tomatoes and some rice, once the rice has swelled I add the veg that needs steaming on top for the last 10 min. I cook an acorn squash in the counter oven by splitting it in half and putting it cut side down on pan, then put water in pan about an inch deep, bake at 350 for an hour or until the skin is soft and wrinkly, then scrape out flesh and add your butter substitute (coconut oil here) and cinnamon then bake 10 or 20 min more... we eat potatoes and yams a lot. Maybe this is all too basic. Hope others will have more for you. We went GFCFSF a few months ago and I do not regret it at all and will continue this way of eating the rest of my life I believe (was already organic, no food colors, no HFCS, no msg, no preservatives... etc) yay for you giving up caffeine! It is a very addictive, very sneaky drug the way it is manufactured.
