homeopathy for allergies?

Have any of you used homeopathy for allergies?

Does it work? with the "like for like" philosophy, it seems kinda scary with the allergens. Is it really safe to treat allergies with something that contains the allergens?

Our local health food store suggested this:

for the seasonal allergies my dd has been having.

I started using it yesterday. I am not sure if it is helping or not with the symptoms she had, but maybe. However, now she has a bunch of little spots that look like bug bites on her legs and arms. I am not sure if those spots are related to this spray or not

I have used it very effectively, but not as isodes. Constitutionally, yes. There are many companies that specialize in giving trace amounts of gluten for a gluten intolerance. It is similar to the idea of vaccines, or allergy shots. I look at things a bit differently and try to support the whole body to eliminate the need to react, rather than train it not to react to a specific substance.

How do I do that? I would LOVE it if we didn't have to worry about these allergies.

that's what a classical homeopath would do. It's also what a practitioner of TCM would do, just a different path to the same destination. There's another thread on here about eczema that kind of touches on this.

With classical homeopathy you look at the person, how the react, to what, what the patterns are and use the information to find a single remedy that will support and normalize the system. This looks to balance a skewed system and get the individual out of the "fight or flight" state so that they can rest and digest without constantly challenging their system.

When you are over-reactive it basically means that the system is always "on" which of course also affects several systems including, but not limited to the endocrine system. As a result your adrenals, thyroid, hypothalamus, pituitary etc are all affected creating a vicious cycle. The substance that your body is reacting to is not the issue. So neutralizing that single substance, if in fact it works, doesn't help your body because in the absence of that substance it will just find the next thing to react to.

Does that make sense?
