Are these things related, and if so?

Cavities and poor hair growth.
Pink eye twice, once needing antibiotics, once cleared up with breastmilk alone (probably because I recognized it faster and applied breastmilk sooner).
Susceptible to yeast. She's got the base of one thumb nail eaten away (treating, per her doctor, with a twice daily soak in a solution of vinegar and epsom salt and an OTC anti-fungal.)

Take a look at the cell salts thread. Cavities, nails, and poor hair growth are indications for the same remedy, IIRC... but those ladies know much more than I do about it.

Do you supp with probiotics or eat cultured foods?

only yogurt, and that not as often as I'd like.

Bother, I would decide to start really figuring this out on Memorial Day weekend. I can at least place an online order for the cell salt(s) though and figure out which HFS has good probiotics.

Here's the cell salts thread, there's a link to order in it....

To me they sound generally related, in terms of being rundown nutritionally. For me and the kids, food intolerances factored in as part of that--not the root cause, but a very helpful part of getting better. For us, my health was closely intertwined with the kids' health, though of course things showed up in very different ways.

Okay in the cell salts thread, slow nail growth is fixed by the same things recommended for dentition problems. I have to cut dd's nails once or twice a week. I don't know what's normal, is that slow?

Hmm, I think we might be dealing with yeast. Her thumbnail problem is likely a yeast, she's got vulva itchiness (she says "ouchy" but doesn't ask for kisses, or talk about it all the time like she's done with bumped knees, so I'm thinking it doesn't hurt as such). And I just spotted a coating on the back half of her tongue.

So, any good ideas of stuff I can give her to help the yeast-induced carb cravings?

Probiotics should help with yeast, right?

That sounds like a normal nail growth rate to me, but it seems like most people have some, but not all, of the issues that tend to cluster.

Specifically for cavities, have you checked out the sticky in Dental? It seems like a combo of more nutrients plus cell salts to help absorb/use nutrients better has helped a lot of people.

For digestive stuff for us, probiotic foods helped (we love kimchee), removing food intolerances helped, a few supplements that aren't as typical helped as well--there's some guess-and-check involved in this part, since so many things can cause digestive imbalances in different people.

Reducing the amount of grains around and increasing the amount of fat in meals/snacks helps some people with carb cravings. Cutting out gluten reduced my cravings for it--didn't eliminate them, but helped.

Figured out what's going on. Still going to use the nutrition information to help rebuild all the stuff the yeast weakened, but at least now it won't be like trying to fill a bucket with a hole.
