why the late AF, I know I O'd! bfN, could I still be?...

Ok, I've read through a few posts, and I kindof got my questions answered, but I just needed to hear some ideas you wise ladies might have on my situation.

So, we aren't TTC. DD#2 just turned 1 on last Friday the 21st and I'm in no way ready to have another just yet. AF should have come Saturday, day 12po for me. In the 4 years since dd#1 came and AF returned, I've never had a luteal phase that was longer than 12 days. I know I O'd because the next day after dtd I dried up and my temp went up. I kept taking my waking temps and it seems like I had a triphasic at some point because now I'm a good 2-3 tenths above what I was right after I O'd.

On the day I O'd, we we're moderately careful (pulled out). I'm still bfing full time, so my period has been kindof wonky. I was on day 47 of this cycle and didn't know I was about to O, considering I'd had several "peaks" with no O threshold. On day 13dpo, 15dpo, and 18dpo I had BFN.

So, what the hell is going on?! I've had a few minor symptoms of being preggo (random bouts of low blood sugar, which is always my first symptom, crampy lower belly-but my low back has been kindof messed up lately so that could be affecting the cramps).

I've heard of delayed AF, but isn't it usually because some kind of stress or illness delays ovulation? I always thought that once you O'd you were on the clock.

What do you ladies think?

I am bfing my 21 month old dd, and my period came back when she was 8 months old. I had very very regular cycles, always 28 or 29 days. I wasn't temping much but usually o'd on cd18 with a 10 day LP. Then, two cycles ago, I o'd late at cd 20 and went to 32 days. I was convinced I was pregnant, but I wasn't. I wouldn't stress out about it yet. Do you have a link to your chart?

If you definitely ovulated over 18 days ago I can't think of any way you could not be (or have been anyway) pregnant. Many very early pregnancies miscarry before they're even noticed, so that could be a possibility of what's going on. Anyway false negatives on HPT's are very common, sometimes it takes a while for hormone levels to get high enough. You could very well be pregnant, it's pretty much that or you are mistaken on your O date.

Also, you could have a luteal cyst - you would get BFNs but no AF until it resolves.

would I have any signs or pain with a luteal cyst?

Also, I've heard that with ectopics that you sometimes get bfns for a while. I'd only be 4w5d now, so I probably wouldn't have any symptoms there either until about 6 weeks, right?

Oh I totally missed the 18 dpo. Hmmm, you should probably see your doc soon if you don't get AF or BFP by tomorrow.

So, I had another negative test this morning, now 20dpo. After doing some more research on luteal cysts, it seems likely that's what's happening.

With my 2 kids and 3 miscarriages, I've been preggo enough times to know that I'm not one of those people who has negative tests when I'm really am pregnant. I usually show positive if I am around 10dpo.

I'm going to call my midwife after the holiday weekend.

Thanks for the support ladies!
