How many sheet sets and towels for family of 4? - Page 2

If I were starting from scratch, my plan would be:

Sheets: One set per bed, and one spare set for each bed size, all in neutral colors so that it doesn't matter what room they go into.

I like the previously-mentioned idea of a spare flat set that would work for any bed size, but I can't rely on myself to get the sheets washed and dried in the same day that I take them off, and I hate using a flat sheet as the bottom sheet.

Towels: Four large towels per bathroom - one as a hand towel, one as a bath towel, and two spares to be in the laundry or for guests or if someone just got one sopping wet. (Family shares bath and hand towels; guests would get their own.) Six washcloths per bathroom. (Family doesn't share washcloths.) All in white.

I'm thinking about going to all full-sized beds when we move (one for DS and two pushed together for me and DH). Then I am not sure how many sheets we'd need. Maybe 5 sets of sheets total. Our futon (for guests) is a full size too. Then we'd have an extra set at all times and unless I changed all the beds at once I wouldn't have to worry about getting them washed the same day.

We have 2 bath towels per person plus I think 2 or 3 extra for guests. For handtowels we have 5. We have two bathrooms and I think a couple more hand towels would be ideal just for those times I get behind on laundry. Especially since the toddler likes to get them very wet. The bath towel situation is perfect though.

Oh, and then we have two beach towels. We don't use those very often though.

Wait, I think DH and I did decide on two twins for our bed. I have trouble keeping track of everything lately.

In that case, I think I'll for four sets of twin sheets (or two twins and a king to fit both together) so we can replace our bed's sheets without washing the same day, then two or three full sets.

We already have two sets of twin sheets. I think my mom has a king set she was going to give us. And we have one full set so we only need to buy another full or two. That could work out great. Of course the two twin sets we have are green and tan flannel and...like, sort of burgandy so that doesn't really go together.

We'll see.
