Surprised at DP's reaction to new babe?

Anyone else surprised at their DP's reaction to the new babe? I knew that DP would love the baby and expected that it would all be good, but I've been blow away at how he just adores her! It's been so sweet to watch! It's his first child and I had a long, hard labor that ended up with a section. He was fabulous as labor support, but it was hard on him. He asked me on day 2 post partum if it was weird that he was already thinking about doing it again.

I cannot wait to see him with her... this is also my soon-to-be hubbys first... as well as the first little girl in his family (hes one of three boys and the only other grandchild is a boy)

DH is amazing as always! However he did say something that was not like him.... he told me at first he thought our dear baby girl, all thin and such unlike our others, looked like voldimort! What a dork!

I am amazed at how sweet and gentle and loving my husband has been with Elliott. I had expected him to be a good dad, but I didn't expect for it to come on quite so intensely and immediately and tenderly--I had expected some stressy initial shock and adjustment where he'd be perfectly adequate re: care but not so very attached from the start. His baby talk is adorable and he's thoroughly smitten.
