Anyone NOT have cramping in early pg? Anyone have tugging on one side and all was fine?

I am about 5w5d pg (I thought I was further along, but I used the online due date calculator using the conception date and it said otherwise). I have been having almost no cramping at all. Now I've been pg many times before (2 kids and 4 miscarriages)- with ALL of those pg's, my boys included, I always had off and on cramping early on. That is always a reassuring sign to me that my uterus is growing, so I am so worried that I don't feel anything. I may have had a little bit of cramping about a week after ovulation, but it was only for a day or so.

Also... when I stand up or twist a certain way I feel a tugging sensation on my left side, where my ovary or tube is. It's not painful at all, just a slight little tug. Weird. I only feel it when I twist my body or sit up from a certain position... I don't feel it when I cough or sneeze, and I have no stabbing feelings. But it worries me still.

So with these two things, I'm worried about an ectopic. I've never had an ectopic before, although I have had 4 miscarriages. I was worried with one of my pregnancies (can't remember which one) that it was ectopic since I was having jabbing pains in one side, but it turned out to be normal. I think it may have also been a corpus luteum cyst (was so long ago but I think I remember the doc telling me that).

But this is different... normally I would run to my doc or the ER to ease my fears, but I have no insurance right now (this was not a planned pregnancy, and we were in the middle of changing insurances).

What do you think??? Please help, I am worried.

I didn't have any cramping with this one, but I had an early M/C and cramped so much right before this one was conceived so I kind of chalk it up to that. I did have some of that tugging on one side not long ago. I thought maybe it was just the ligament pain, but I also have a little bit of a tilted uterus so that could be it too. I haven't had an U/S to confirm everything's ok, but I'm huge and feeling very pregnant so I'm assuming it's all good. Try not to worry too much.

I had the generalized uterine cramps, but I also had the sharp pains on one side. They weren't ER-painful (what I would associate with an ectopic pregnancy), but they were noticeable and sharp. I think I ovulated on that side, and that's where the CL was. Once I reached about 8-9 weeks, the sharp pains stopped.

I didnt have any cramps with the first two and for a while in the beginning with this little girly i would get this feeling on my lower right like something was stuck on something else inside of my body... kind of pinched.

All sorts of feelings can be totally normal and absence of feelings can be too. Every women is different. Every pregnancy will be different in some ways, even in the same woman. (Im on #3 and while they are similar in a lot of ways, there are a lot of differences too!)

You only need to worry if its something you feel is worth worrying over (like severe pain)

I recently had an ectopic pregnancy. I did have a tugging sensation on one side that distinctly felt like tearing at one point when I twisted. It was only for a moment and then the pain was gone. However, since there probably was a tear I was bleeding internally having what was nearly a period, but not quite and a feeling like my period was going to start. I didn't feel right inside, which I would now describe as an internal bleeding feeling. Then at five weeks I had an episode like everything was in the wrong place inside and I felt dizzy, sick and like something was very wrong. Then that passed and later that evening I started to have constant pain on one side. They are not able to detect a pregnancy at 5 weeks in a fallopian tube, at least they weren't for me. The best way they could tell was monitoring my HCG level. It was going up but low for how far along I was and I was bleeding but as I said HCG was going up.

It could be nothing at all and may just be pain from where your corpus luteum cyst burst. However, HCG tests are very affordable. I think mine cost $28 per test. If you are worried, I would perhaps do that to alleviate your worries.

I just wanted to give you my experience, so you know what to look out for.

Thanks! Where can you get them done that cheaply?

Sorry about your EP, and thanks for sharing your story! I haven't really felt that tugging sensation anymore today. Definitely didn't feel like "tearing", like you described, just more of a very slight tug. I have had no pain. Like I said, the due date calculator has me at 5w5d counting from conception date... would I feel more symptoms by now if it was ectopic?

Thanks to everyone else as well!

MaerynPearl- with your first two, you had absolutley no crampiness? If that's true that makes me feel so much better!!

Do you think it could be early round ligament "pain" ("pain" in quotes because I don't actually feel any pain)?? I found this http://www.mothering.com/discussions.../t-596339.html where ladies swore they had very early RL pain. What do you think about that? Although it sounds like their pain was actual pain...

I had mine done at Quest Diagnostics. You have to call your doctor or midwife to get a requisition form to have your blood drawn in a lab. If you call and explain your situation, they will probably do that for you. Sometimes you can just go into your docs office for bloodwork without seeing the doc and it is less expensive too.

Come to think of it, I remember some sharp tugging pains in my first pregnancy which was round ligament pain as my first pregnancy sign. Most people don't feel ectopic pain until 6-7 weeks.

its hard to say. i lost my ectopic baby at almost 7 weeks. i did have some of the pains like the PP said, but mostly mine came on like a ton of bricks... i did have odd HCG levels. my DOC said its very odd to have a tube rupture like mine did at only 7 weeks. my pain was mostly in my bum, because thats were the blood started to pool and cause presser.

i think HCG levels are your best way to go.

I didn't have any crampiness whatsoever. My only clue that I was pregnant (until morning sickness that is..) was that my boobs felt like they had electricity flowing through them. (hahah!)

FWIW, I have tended to have more round ligament pain on my left side than on my right, at least early on in my pregnancy. Now I'm 15+wks and I get it everywhere, but I distinctly recall it only on the left to start with. And, baby seems to be healthy and growing and right where s/he should be.

I started this thread about early RLP in this pregnancy. It was one of my very first symptoms.

i had crampy pains on one side when i was pregnant with dd, before i knew i was pregnant (found out at 8 weeks) and my midwife said it could have been implantation pains?

Thought I would update... I am 8w4d today, and have heard the hb on my doppler the last 3 or 4 days (165 bpm!). Haven't been to the doc yet (waiting on insurance), but I am assuming everything will be ok. Also, I did end up having a couple days here and there of cramping (but not as much as my previous pg's).

Anyway, just wanted to update because I know sometimes I read threads and wish the person would have updated.
