I think I have thrush! What to do?

My nipples are KILLING me.
This is my third baby and I had sore nipples with the others, but nothing like this.
My nipples are cracking, messed up looking, and have this rashy kind of thing going on.
I looked on line and I am trying apple cider vinegar. Someone else said coconut oil or tea tree oil.
Any experience with this and what to do?
This is really hard.
I cant walk around bare chested because we have construction going on and besides I constantly let down and leak everywhere.

http://members.ll.net/naturalmothering/thrush.html has suggestions. Yogurt will be soothing even on cracked nipples.

I know it isn't very natural, but after messing around with grapefruit seed extract (on myself and swabbing my DD's mouth) I couldn't take the pain anymore and asked my midwife for diflucan. It took about 3 weeks at the full dose for it to clear it up completely. I also asked DD's ped to look in her mouth to ensure she didn't have it, and she did not. So I didn't get nystatin for her. Looking back I think I should have gotten the nystatin for DD anyway and treated her while treating myself so that we weren't passing it back and forth -- it may have cleared up my case quicker.

Good luck, mama! Thrush is HORRIBLE! I hope you get some relief soon!

Oh -- and make sure you wash your bras in HOT water with HOT rinse if possible, and use disposable nursing pads if you can. You don't want wetness near your nips.
