I would like to know this as well.
I told my fiance I will NOT do disposables. I did cloth w/my first and plan on doing it w/the LO come January.

He sees how "expensive" CD's are and he's like "you could make them!"
I literally LoL and Im like I can not even sew a straight line, and he knows this.
We have a nice/decent sewing machine and he can actually sew better than me (raised by his grandmother).
He's also a very smart (sometimes too smart, but well meaning) software engineer.
So Im just browsing the "make your own" diaper sites.
If we try it, I want the easiest, most streamlined, as well as high quality pattern possible.

I also want them cute so wed have to find good fabric stores online or just go local.

I have a funny feeling that he's going to see the bit of money we save just isnt worth all the effort it goes into, planning, cuttting, sewing ect ect lol.

I dunno... all the choices and possibilites for screw-ups make my head spin. And when it comes to buying stuff I like to find the most of the cheapest, I can when possible. sigh.

I have some DKs. I don't love the aplix, so I put in side snaps on mine. The pattern itself works for us. What doesn't work is 3 layers of heavy duty flannel in the body. It takes forever to dry. I'm also not crazy about lay-in soakers. I still have a bunch in the next size to make if I ever find the time, and I'll be taking them apart so the body is only 2 layers (instead of the designed 3), and figuring out a way to attach the soakers (either snap-in or sew-in).
