New to GD/ Resource recommendations?

My DP and I have an adventurous 10 mo. old. While we have never come right out and said, "We attachment parent," I suppose we do. We've bedshared and worn our babe from birth and more. My favorite books are Magical Child and The Continuum Concept.

I'd like some more resources on gentle discipline/positive discipline, as our LO is at that age where "things are clicking." I'd like to feel a little more confident as we navigate this fun and high energy time. (He is just now walking).

I am currently very inspired by A.S. Neill's book Summerhill; his theories on the free and self-regulated child are riveting and I am curious how they might fit in with AP and GD.

Books names preferably since web access is ltd.
THANKS!

The best book I have read for this age (so far) is Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by Laura Davis and Janis Keyser. It is written as a reference book, so you don't need to read it cover to cover. The sectionsI would suggest reading are part 2 children's feelings, part 4 difficult behavior, and chapter's 23 and 24 on socialization. Its emphasis is on communication and has lots of examples with scripts on how to talk to your toddler. Here are some articles written by the authors:

I was going to recommend the same book. It was a life saver when ds1 was younger! As a matter of fact, I think I should reread it now that ds2 is 11mos old.
It's definitely my favorite "how to" parenting book for younger kids. There are other great parenting books, but a lot of them are more philosophical, and don't really give concrete ideas, iykwim. I guess that makes sense- when kids get older, disciplining them gets more complex. But for the young 'uns, generally if you put a few of the (many) ideas in BTPYWTB together, you get something effective.
