Growing Blueberries in the North East

I'm in Massachusetts, on the South Shore.

I just picked up 6 small burlap bags of blueberry starter shrubs in three different varieties. I'm guessing it's a little late for planting them since they were 50% off and I got the last of the ones with any green left on them.

The planting instructions are pretty minimal. They don't say anything about acidic soil.

Does anyone have any tips on getting these off to a good start?

I do know that they need a lot of sun and at some point, when they start producing, I will need to protect them from birds and other pests.

TIA,

Get your soil tested and if needed amend you can amend it. Regardless of the lack of instructions. Blueberry need acidic soil. If they flower the first year, pick them off.
