Pregnant, 17DPO, 2nd line still isn't as dark...

I'm worried about that darn second line still not being as dark as the control line on the HPT. This is my 2nd pregnancy and quite unexpected but we're thrilled! I'm 17DPO and I'm definitely calling the dr tomorrow -- should I ask for a Beta test?

Oh, my temps are still high but a bit up and down within that triphasic area. I took the HPT today after holding my pee for about 3 hrs.

I just remember that my second line was dark by now with my first pregnancy.

WDYT? Any similar experiences?

Want this little blessing to stick.

I had that happen with ds. Since I had 2 m/c where the line didnt get darker and got lighter it scared me. But turns out the type of test I was using, strip tests from online, that is a common thing with them.

Also not using FMU will cause the line to be lighter no matter how long you hold your pee because it is still not concentrated.

MCatlover: Thanks so much for your reply. The only problem I have with FMU is that I use the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'm going to try and wait it out tonight. I probably need to buy some new HPTs too.

With your first 2 miscarriages, did they occur early - in other words, were they considered chemical pregnancies?

I took that test at 12 weeks.

Yes, weeks. You know, HCG concentration of over 100,000?

Still, the line on the right, the test line, not as dark as the control line on the left.

Its just how tests are. They DONT get darker for most. Even FRERs.

btw http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5182.jpg was my 15dpo test... 17dpo would not have been much darker, tbh.

And http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5292.jpg is all of my tests through 20dpo...

but this is a VERY healthy pregnancy. I can assure you. She is kicking around in there like she is trying to break free!

The first was due to poor uterine lining coming off the depo shot. I never had an af while on it or for 8 months after stopping. I started testing once a week in case I got pg without having af or I wouldnt have realized I was pg. I was approx 6-7 weeks when I lost that one.

The other was a true chem pg tested + 4 days before af was due line never got darker and af came on time.

I had a BFN at 12dpo, and then my BFP at 18dpo was nowhere near as dark as the control. It was obvious, but not that dark.

And that second line is currently in a carrier sleeping on my chest.

MaerynPearl: Hon, I wish I could squeeze you so hard. I practically feel like I know you from MDC. THank you so much for taking the time to post those pics. It's soooo reassuring. I was so thrilled when I read you were pregnant (a while ago). I had been lurking on the TTC area because we were planning to start trying in September (yes, I realize that's a while away). Thanks again-- can't wait for your baby girl to arrive. And, yes, I'm going to stop testing -- unless I find another old test laying around...
