My almost-16mo has recently cut down nursing A LOT. He was always the type to BF several times an hour all day long, and even the past few months he would do that whenever we were home & still nurse a couple times while we were out.
Now, he will hardly nurse at all when we're out. Today, for ex, he nursed 2 1/2 times including when he woke up. We were gone all day and just got back 12 hours later & he finally nursed again, so that's just 3 or 4 times all day. He does still nurse several times before bed most nights, and a couple times during the night... well I guess now that I write it out it sounds like he's probably still nursing enough??? Maybe he has just cut out all the 'comfort sucking' except in bed? I guess I'm just concerned because he doesn't eat a whole lot of solids (which wasn't an issue when he was nursing 30 times a day but he doesn't seem to have increased his solids accordingly)... Today he had a few bites of a muffin for breakfast, 2 bites of veggie burger & 1/2 small ear of corn for lunch, salsa & fruit for snack, and maybe a cup of roasted veggies & some strawberries for dinner. He also had some sips of water throughout the day. Is all this normal for a 16mo who's not nursing frequently???? Am I just worrying too much???
And my other question... we decided to start TTC #2, really don't want to put it off any longer for several reasons, but I'm worried about my milk supply if we succeed (may not be as much of an issue since it took us a year to conceive #1)... Should I pump as much milk as I can in case I do lose my milk? Will he adapt if my milk supply changes???
