Charting to Avoid/Fertility Awareness, June 2010 - Page 31

Add me to those who would be lost without temps. I would drive myself crazy every month-- and I have very regular cycles too, where I could totally use just CF and probably be totally fine. But not having that extra variable to confirm it, I would never be able to relax.

Smokering: See we have 5 nieces ages 1.5-6, and then I have a cousin who is due with her second girl at the end of July (first will be a year 6 days later!!), and that will be her last as well. So we said it's a toss up, if we have a girl, then we're pretty much set for EVERYTHING, but if we have a boy, we'll need to buy way more clothing, but there's the excitement of being the only ones in the family to be able to produce a boy! lol

My temp was way back up this morning. Maybe yesterday's temp was low because of the ibuprofen I took. It says it can last 8 hours and I took a double dose. Don't ever buy Good Sense brand ibuprofen. I think it's the Kmart generic. It doesn't work. I've never had a problem with ibuprofen not working before but every time I've taken this stuff I've had to take a double dose before it starts working at all.

Anyway, here's my chart.

Very well could be. Hopefully it is O. Where will that put in relation to your DH getting home?

Well, depending on when O happened, cd20-22, I'll get July 9-12. DH is supposed to be home on the 10th. Perfect, huh?

Ugh...sorry about that! How long will he be home for?

MW: That really stinks. Sorry.

Ok I'm a little confused. Normally I O on CD15 I think, and a few months ago I started getting a tiny bit of spotting the day I Oed, but now I'm on CD13 and I'm getting a LOT of spotting. I'm getting some cramps too, not too bad, but I'm also going to the bathroom a lot, which I only get when I O. Doesn't spotting always mean O is happing now or has just happened? Not really something you'd get a few days in advance right? If I O today I have a high chance of getting pregnant I think. Horrible timing since I was in a car accident 3 months ago and am still getting back on my feel physically and have lost my job because of it. We're so broke we're just trying to keep the electricity on, never mind any extras or a baby. Plus I need to go to school for a yes before a baby can happen or we'll never get out of this hole. Please look at my chart and tell me I'm not O-ing!
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2ab1c6

Last month I lost my thermometer so I can't pinpoint O exactly, but by CF and physical symptoms I think it was CD 15. I just skimmed my charts and realized my O date hasn't been as consistent the last few months, but it's usually CD 15, sometimes later. Oh, and my chart says we dtd on Friday, but it was more like Sat morning, 2 AM... which means it's been 3.5 days, which means there could def be live sperm still right?

Learning how to temp while bfing

Hello Ladies! I'm new to this forum but not to temping. I successfully "achieved" last year when I got pregnant with my little boy. :-)

I am exclusively breastfeeding but for whatever reason my periods start back up at 6wks regardless. And like clockwork, my baby was 6wks last Tuesday and I started my period. It was relatively short for me, was over by Saturday.

I haven't started temping yet, I'm trying to figure out what time to do that. We are feeding on demand so timing is tricky. Any suggestions on that?

At any rate I'm TTA, we have 5 kids & we're done. I considered having my tubes tied but don't like the list of possible side effects. I'd rather not have my hubby have a vasectomy due to family history of prostate cancer.

Looking forward to getting to know you all. :-)

Smylingeyz - It is impossible to tell right now if you are Oing........I would say with the spotting and EWCF that you are definitely getting ready to O soon! Good luck with a few days before the temp rise! Did you have an CF on the last day you DTD?

Welcome Jessica!! Congrats on the new addition Have you read any books on charting? TCOYF is a good place to start and this thread is awesome !!

I didn't see or feel any, but I didn't do an internal check till today. Probably should have. esp because I didn't really see anything today either, but def foung eggwhite CF once I checked internally. Doesn't spotting have to do with the egg going through the ovary? That's why I thought it meant O was happening right now.

Thanks!! Oh yeah, I have a copy of that. Just read the bfing section of that. I feel like I should re-read the entire book and the bfing section several times again. lol

Someone correct me if I'm wrong - but I am pretty sure that spotting around O time is just a secondary sign (like O cramps and pains) so the fact that you are spotting does NOT mean you are Oing today FORSURE (of course that doesn't mean you AREN'T either )

Spotting with EWCF should be interpreted as HIGHLY fertile. Now as to whether or not she's O'ing today, it's impossible to tell. That can only be determined after the fact. Smilingeyz, if you were completely dry on CD 9, then you might be o.k.

Mid-cycle spotting can be caused by many things. The egg erupting from the ovary is only one possibility. It can also be caused by hormonal fluctations or trauma to the cervix. It should be considered highly fertile but doesn't mean you are necessarily Oing right now. Even if it is O spotting, it could be several days before you actually do O.

Welcome, Jessica!

Smylingeyz: How did your temp took today?

MW: Sorry about the intrusive -- hope it hurries itself along!

AFM: I know you all said not to worry, but my weird LPs are driving me nuts! Half of the time it's 11 days, then it's suddenly 13 or 14! I am trying not to get panicky, but I start looking around the 12 day mark and get all worked up.
At lest the temp dropped some. . .

where are you?

Beth ~ With the dtd data you've got in there, I just don't see anyway you could be pg. Last cycle's chart seems off to me. I can't quite put my finger on why but it does. What are your more frequent lp lengths? Are they normally 11 days with just 1-2 13-14 day ones every once in a while or do they vary more often than that? If they seem to vary a lot, either some of your O days are off or something is messing with your hormones/cycles.

AFM, I think O day will be cd22. Or, should I say, I'll get crosshairs on cd22 and be considered safe on/after cd25? Is that how you'd say it if you're looking for when you're safe rather than trying to pinpoint O? I said a while back I was going to switch my thinking/phrasing of that but I seem to keep going back to calling it O day. Anyway, that means will be here 7/11 or 7/12 and dh is supposed to be home on 7/10. The good thing is she should be pretty much gone by the time we leave for vacation.

I still call it O day! 6 of one, half a dozen of the other!

Bummer AF will be here for you while your DH is home. Hopefully her stay is short and is totally gone in time for vacay. Where are you headed again?

We're going to Hershey, PA for a few days in 3 weeks. I shouldn't be fertile and I won't be on AF. I should be safe. This is all if AF shows today (which she better! I'm tired of waiting!!) and I think it's the best scenario. I don't have to worry about anything on vacay. Just being there, having a good time, no 2ww, no AF, no O. Just good old fashioned family fun.

Of course, this is IF AF shows, and IF I can snooze my clock for one cycle. I think I can do it. DH wants me to take at least one month to "chill" so that maybe in August we can ditch the goalie. I'm not holding him to anything on that front, but a month to CTA doesn't sound like a horrible idea.
