I hope everyone had a fun day! We BBq'd with some friends family. It was a really touching day, our friends dad has brain cancer and isn't doing well. It was a really nice day for all of us to get together and just be there for him. He can't talk anyore...but he had a lot of smiles today.
On a primal note, I have been dairy free for 5 days now I think. I have been super strict about it. A few things I have noticed: 1) I eat WAY more veggies being dairy free, 2) I eat way more berries being dairy free (my new favorite snack is 1 C of berries (mixed blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries is my fave) with 1/4 c of coconut milk, and stevia to taste- Yum!), 3) I dropped 3 lbs overnight, and my abs popped out, 4) I feel great.
I don't notice the difference so much not eating grains. I don't because I am fine not eating grains, and I do believe in the difficulty of digestion and because I had gestational diabetes and a fam. history of type 2 diabetes. But the difference between dairy and no dairy has been amazing. I knew, on a subconscious level that dairy was not good for my body, but had a really hard time making this plunge because I LOVE butter, sourcream, and cheese.
I am also gonna pat myself on the back because I had a birthday party for nobody on friday with my kids and a bunch of their friends, and the big bbq today, and AF is knocking on the door, and I didn't cheat. I ate very decently. I did have the coconut milk, and berries thing a couple of times, and a few squares of 70% lindt, but that's it. No cake, no ice cream, no cookies...and I didn't even want any.
