June has not gotten off to a stellar financial start, but I am going to jump in anyway.

a) Who you are: Kim, homeschooling mum to (2) monkeys (6 + 3), WOHM 32 hrs/wk (goal of full self-employment by 7/31), DH works FT (weekends @ hospital), tricky schedule as we don't employ childcare

b) Where you want to go: Short term: keep budget in the black + launch full self-employment by 7/31, Mid term: pay off all debt except mortgages (2 properties) + acquire a camp, Long term: pay off mortgages

c) How you plan to get there: Ah, this is the challenging part. Low hanging fruit in our budget includes groceries, dining out, + library fines. Also want to continue selling stuff we don't need. On the earning more front, need to rock the self-employment income over the next 2 months.

Goals for June:
Grocery/Dining Out: $0/$500
No Unnecessary Spending: 24/30
No Drive Days: 4/30

Grocery/Dining Out: $140.59/$500

Plan....first applied for some programs to assist us right now. Work has been extremely difficult to get right now (contruction/plumbing jobs and dance students).

Second: reduce spending!

My goal is to have at least 15 no spend days, 25 no eating out days, and something going towards bills/debt even if it is 50.00 at this point.

SO:
2/15 NO SPEND DAYS

2/25 NO EATING OUT

2.00/60.00 saved towards bills/debt (in addition to regular monthly bills)

Planned spending:

Emergency spending:

6/1 came back into town so blew it during the 6 hr trip
6/2 (2 coffees and fast food with hubby )
6/3 (dh bought pizza for dinner )
6/4 (Owe 40.00 for 2 dr co-pays that I will be getting a bill for; got food for free to add to household) Starting No Impact Challenge http://noimpactproject.org/
6/5 Will be eating dinner out after dance recital (just fast food or pizza)

Me too. I have a $1.32 waiting to be paid. I might be able to scrounge enough out of the couch cushions.

Oh, oh, oh, add me to this list!!!!! Hhahah I need to NOT spend money, I guess everyone should save a little more right?

Well let's begin with intro's:

a. Who you are

Samantha, SAHM to, 2 boys and another due on Nov. Homeschooling, NFL, environmentalist, QF, alternative living mama, living in MN but moving to an off grid farm in CO next year.

Thax for taking me under your wings everyone!

b. Where you are going (your financial goals)

Well, let's see, um this is embaressing, but. . . we want to get out of our $20k we have in debt, sell our home (thus get rid of our morgage) and pay cash for everything, including saving for our land, and then the building of our structure. It's ambitious, but we are committed to this and want to never borrow again. We began getting out of debt (meaning we have not borrowed) in a few years, so it's taking a while, but we have a goal of another 5 years and then we hope to be debt free. Hubby has a good paying job so we have been able to get by, but it will be nice to be debt free, and I've also been looking into all the consumerism/big corperations/the *American Dream* yadda yadda and think it's all crap. So that's why we plan our move to the seculded mountians were we can be nearly electricty free, and virtually mainstream free. That's the goal anyway

c. How you plan to get there

~Save
~Hubby is working overtime for about $200-$500 extra a week
~Save money on groceries buy cooking from scratch (read my blog for ideas!!) literally we put out our garbage can 1x a month because we've cut down on packaging so well.
BUT I can still do better, like buy more in bulk, actually get around to the baking, eating out of our pantry more ect.
~Hang dry! We've been really good about this, we've even unplugged the dryer
~Unplug ghoast electronics, and shut all lights off and use more candles or go to bed early
~Conserve water, we've been super super good at this, hubby and I have actually been taking showers together and getting a two for one! hehe
~Keeping the house more clean and organized, I think this helps us save money becuase we know what we have and are not buying two things
~Simplify. We've been garage saleing and craigslisting stuff and getting little extra money here and there.
~Garden more of our food
~Barter
~Maybe get more on top of my etsy store and actually SELL something!!

Hmm... there's more I think. . . But

I think we've bought misc. items here and there so I'm starting my month now

. . .it's only 11:50 here now but so far so good!!!

Would need an infinite number of if I were to admit what my current library balance is (didn't make it there yesterday) - (4) movies that were forgotten following our little guy's tonsil surgery (at $1/day per movie) plus the one dang Arthur book we just cannot seem to find = yet another generous contribution to our library's endowment. Determined to make this the LAST check I write for library fees!
