pads vs tampons

I'll admit that I never even knew about cloth pads and keepers before I got pregnant. I haven't menstruated yet, so I'm doing my research...

I know why cloth/keeper is better than paper/disposable. But what's the difference between "inside" and "outside?"

Is it just preference???

I definitely think it's just preference and lifestyle. I personally wear the keeper during the day(I'm a very on-the-go person and go from the gym to school to home to swimming, etc) and when I get home and change into my jammies to get comfy(not that my keeper isn't comfy but you know what I mean), I switch to pads. I have GladRags and love them.
