Postpartum Weight Loss- June! - Page 6

Hi Mulvah, welcome! Do you have stats that you want me to add to the first page?

Can you guys believe it is going to be JULY next week? Oh my gosh, where is the time going?

I weighed in this morning at 167lbs. How is this possible? The weight just seems to be falling off.. I just know once I hit the inevitable plateau that it is going to be so much harder now.. The good news is, apparently breastfeeding is working for me too Annie, since I usually hold onto weight while nursing! I wonder if it has to do with a boy/girl thing since I just had my first boy.

I was looking at my wiifit graph, and I started working out on 4/9 at 5 weeks post partum. I had already lost 20lbs of water weight, initial pp weight at that point. My weight on 4/9 was.. 193lbs. Seeing it on there, and then seeing the 167 that I weighed in today, less than 3 months later really puts it in perspective for me...

I have been reading a lot of weight loss blogs too. My two favorites are http://ronisweigh.com/ and http://www.leadingtheweigh.com / (the last one is a weight watchers blog). It helps me to stay motivated. When I am hungry and want to snack, I go and read an old post on there.. Or I brush my teeth.

Another thing I have noticed, and someone tell me if there is any science or anything to this, is when I am doing great on my diet, losing weight, and then I slip up and have a snack or meal that isn't "diet" it ends up boosting my weight loss. Obviously this doesnt work if I eat like crap the whole day, but last night for example we had chicken with a cream of mushroom/cream cheese/swiss cheese sauce with white rice. I went to bed feeling really guilty, and today had lost 1.3lbs. The same thing happened last week when I had a bowl of chocolate ice-cream before bed haha. I'm trying not to get too attached to this idea, or I will end up just gaining weight! LOL.

I'm on vacation now and weighing myself on a different scale, but I like this one much better because it says I'm 129.0. We'll see hoe the week goes--I plan to do some jogging and long walks with my aunt if weather permits, so hopefully the weight loss continues, and hopefully my scale at home agrees when I get back!

@Kitteh- awsome! I need to come use that scale! Enjoy your vaca
@Amanda- I identify so much with your post...especially the part about eating not so good and then losing. I do eat healthy MOST of the time, but obvioulsy not ALL the time, I would go nuts! I was thinking about when I first joined the gym, I weighed 158 on their scale, now 140! Wild! I feel thinner today, I'm sure I'm in the 130s, I have to be. My shorts are fitting looser and looser, I have hardly any muffin top at all, and all my clothes fit.
I can even wear prepregnancy fitted shirts and shorts and my belly is really not all that noticable, probably only to me. I'll have to check out those blogs you posted.

I wish this approach worked for me. I'd be so svelte right now!

A totally idiotic question now: your wii fit. Is this a stand alone machine, or do you have a wii and a wii fit "game," or a Wii, plus a wii fit machine, plus the "games"? It sounds like it would be a fun way to exercise once the rain and cold comes back in the fall.

From here

"I don’t care how much you ate this weekend. The chocolate, the cookies, the pizza, the fast food, all of it, really, I don’t care. It’s over. It’s done. It’s eaten. There’s no taking it back.

Now you can beat yourself up, get depressed and continue to punish yourself by going down this self pity path OR you can…

GET OVER IT!

Seriously girl.Get on your running clothes. Make those lunches. Pull out something for dinner tomorrow. If half the battle is won with confidence the other half is preparation. You got this."

Woohoo! 117,117, 117! Looks like the long walks are the way to go for my body. I'm not so successful at modifying my diet, but I do like to walk, and the pedometer has been a great motivator.

We've made some great changes this month, but its time to say goodbye to June!

Please post your Stats for the July thread in bold!

WTH??? Today I am 121. I am going to believe that a) it's water weight and/or b) the scale is wrong.

For July, I'll go with 119 & split the difference.

I got way off track for a lot of June, but still managed to lose by the end of the month. I'm pretty excited about being 150 pounds and so close to the 140's.
The lowest weight I remmeber being in the month prepregnancy was 147 and I'm almost there!!! Still another 10 pounds to goal

Congrats on all your losses!!

Ok, this will probably get lost in the switch to July shuffle, but here's a question: does anyone know a reliable calorie guide? Because I went to quizno's this afternoon & had a large veggie sub, no guac, no vinaigrette, but a bit of mayo. When I got home to log it, I found varying reports of how many calories it has. Live Strong says 227 for a regular sized on whole wheat, which frankly seems optimistic. Caloriecounter puts a large veggie in at 1220! I don't understand where all those calories would have come from, unless there's a lot of oil in the bread. So I figure 400 for the bread, tops. Cheese -- 150 or so. Mayo -- 150 or so. I think these are high estimates. That leaves 500 calories worth of veg? I don't think so.

No more Quizno's for me, clearly. I didn't think it was that bad.

I have had the same issues with calorie counters. They all seem to waaaay under or overestimate. Hopefully someone else knows of a good one.
