my friends 19 mo was back in the ER for about the 100th time yesterday. he was crying excessively and the gums in the front of his mouth were swollen. he was unable to eat or drink due to the discomfort/pain.
my 1st thought was allergy, but i asked about recent vax, and he had one less than a week ago. is there a particular vax given at this age that is associated with swelling in the mouth?
this poor baby has had such a rough start. his mama couldnt nurse bc of brain surgery and chemo just 3 days pp. his ped doesnt "allow" homeopathics or herbs, and his mother is so not confident in herself she lets her own mother make all the medical decisions for her son, so he's gets vaxed, is given tylenol/motrin, and then is rushed to the ER, over and over again. last time he actually fell unconscious and almost died. and she admits he is showing early signs of autism. i'm so scared he's going to die with the next shot. my friend doesnt want to vax, but she lets her mother talk her into it. (she's almost 30 yo, btw) if i can show her that this specific reaction is documented, it may wake her up enough to stop, even temporarily.
