Once a late implanter, always a late implanter?

It so happens that I don't know for certain about when I got the + HPT with either one of my kids, but I can make some educated guesses.

With my first, I took a test on the 25th day of my cycle and got a negative. I got a positive on the 28th day of my cycle. So I'm guessing I was around 12-14 DPO, but I wasn't charting.

With my second, I was charting, but I had some interrupted sleep and 3 straight days of + OPK's, so it is hard to say. It looks like I had my first positive (very faint) HPT 12 DPO after a blood test with an hcg of 4 10 DPO.

So, can I reasonably expect then not to get a + test once again until 12 or 13 DPO? Or is every pregnancy different to the extent that I could possibly get a positive test sooner this time?

i think you may or may not. i understand there are ladies here who have gotten early +s for one pregnancy, and late ones for the next, or vice versa!

Every pregnancy is different! You could be a slow HCG riser in as far as it metabolizes to your urine though - like it takes longer to actually get to your urine, vs. you actually implanting later, kwim?

I know Maeryn had a BFP at 6dpo and this pregnancy first BFP was at 13dpo - so really every pregnancy is different!

I had a bfp with my first a couple days after AF was due but that was my first clue that something was wrong. It was a very strong positive... so that doesnt help right? lol

With DS I tested the day AF was due. It was a very strong positive.

With DD I tested at 6dpo and got a faint positive.

With this little girl I tested at 10dpo... bfn. White as the blizzard outside that day (Im talking a foot of snow in less than 24 hours, lake effect snow is crazy!) then at 13dpo the faintest line ever... but I implanted at 6dpo.

So when you implant, while it does have somewhat effect on when you get your bfp, is far from the ONLY thing that effects it. Also, how fast your hcg doubles, how hydrated you keep yourself, how fast your body metabolizes the hcg from blood to urine (if that lags you could get a blood BFP for a long time before getting a urine one!)

So... not every pregnancy is the same.

As a matter of fact, not only could you feasibly get a bfp earlier than 12dpo in a pregnancy despite your past, you could also not get one until much later if everything works against you!

For my last one, I know that my hcg in my blood was a 4 on 10 DPO, which was followed by an extremely faint + the evening of 12 DPO, two negatives and a positive digi the morning of 13 DPO and an hcg within the hour of 46.

With my first, I tend to think I was most likely around 13 or 14 DPO, especially because the earliest I could possibly have ovulated and gotten pregnant was CD 13 (I know because it was my birthday, and the first time we didn't use protection) but I think that it is unlikely that I didn't get a positive test until 15 DPO and ovulated that early when I usually ovulate around CD 14 or 15.

Anyway, the whole question has to do with the fact that I'm 7 DPO and going a little nuts. I was hoping someone would say, "Oh yeah, go ahead and poas tomorrow!"

I can't help you much. With my first two pregnancies, I got a pretty quick BFP on a digital at 11dpo. I felt sick that day and tested so I potentially could have tested earlier and it showed up too. With my third pregnancy (a chemical pregnancy) I got a bfn on 11dpo and then a bfp on 15dpo, so that one was later, but I also had no other symptoms and miscarried a week later.

So, not much help but wanted to share in your misery. I'm also 7dpo and am going crazy!

Test if you want... but dont waste a FRER unless you get a line.

My 6dpo bfp was on a dollar tree test.

My 10dpo bfn and subsequent 13dpo bfp were FRER... but I blame my DF on that one as he wouldnt let me bring my cheapie ICs up to Michigan with me and I was starting to have some crazy signs that I was pregnant. So he bought me a two pack of FRER on 8dpo and 9 and 10dpo were both snow white negative... then I got home on 11dpo and was testing daily on my cheapie ICs and getting OMG I THINK THATS A LINE!s and finally on 13dpo caved in and got a FRER to check and alas... very faint but bfp!

So yeah... dont waste FRERs until you are confirming another line.

Oh yeah, go ahead and poas tomorrow! Just be prepared to excuse the likely bfn as a pink line waiting to happen

To answer your original ?, ima concur with everyone else and tell you its gotta be diff for every pg and prolly depends on which way the wind is blowing, too

I'm at sort of a (dis)advantage when I'm not charting- I have super irregular cycles so I tend to let AF slide a bit before declaring her late enough to deserve a test. (now, what in the world about charting makes me an obsessive freak, I couldn't tell you, but that's another post... )

w/ my 1st (early loss), I didn't get a bfp until I had a beta when I was miscarrying. But I had never tested.

w/ DS, I waited until AF was fashionably late. I was 4wks, 6day pg when I tested +.. sooo, what's that? 20dpo? Interestingly, it was a pretty light bfp (for sure of conception date range by both when I had dtd and an early U/S)

w/DD, I tested + @ 13-ish dpo (going by the peak on my cbefm, which I suppose gives a day or 2 wiggle room). I hadn't tested prior (we were oot), but it was a super dark bfp, so I bet it would have been + earlier. I felt implantation @ 9dpo.

Well, here I am 10 DPO and no positive test yet. So I'm kind of hoping now that I am one of those late implanter types and I still can get my BFP in 2 or 3 more days. But I have, for some reason, a sad feeling that I'm out.

its not so much when you implant as how fast your body is metabolizing the hcg into your urine... as I said I implanted at 6dpo but didnt get a bfp until 13dpo!
