Surgery is a go!

Lani had her pre-op surgery today and will be getting her bilateral cochlear implants on friday I don't know if I've ever been so nervous/anxious/excited/scared all at the same time! We're praying everything goes smoothly.

Good luck, Lani!!! I was just going to ask if she was getting bilateral, but you answered the question for me! I've always wondered why some kids get them bilateral right away, and some have two separate surgeries. I know local kids that have done both ways, and the parents just say "that's what the ENT said" without much of a reason given. Just curious.

Be strong mama, you're one step closer to her activation day!!!

Well I know here that medicaid used to only pay for one implant at a time. They just approved bilateral surgery in kids that have severe enough hearing loss in this past year. So maybe that's why! I know I just keep telling myself only a month and shell be activated! I just wish the surgery was done with she's been poked and stuck and examed SO many times already I hate to see her go through it again!
