Do you let your toddler eat hot dogs? If you do what kind? DD is obsessed with hot dogs, but I feel awful letting her eat them.

Used to let him have Morning Star Farms veggie dogs, they don't make them anymore, so he hasn't had any in awhile.

I always getb dd one when we go to the gas station, so mostly they're from 7 11

We buy Applegate Farms uncured 100% beef organic hot dogs and give them as a 'special' meal every once in a while. I do not let him eat hot dogs from a vendor or someone else's house. I loved hot dogs as a little kid (though I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years now) and don't see the harm as long as it is as pure as possible - no chemicals, preservatives, weird animal parts, etc...

We buy Hebrew National or Nathans or we get them from the plant dh works at

we eat light life 'smart dogs', she can eat two of them at a time! They're veggie

I used to buy turkey dogs at the health food store but now I settle on Hebrew National because DH will eat those but won't eat the other kinds.

We get Coleman's Naturals. They're uncured, nitrate free, 100% beef dogs, and are the best tasting hot dogs I have EVER eaten. And we don't have them very often. I think if you get quality, and have it in moderation, there's no need to worry.

no. food that is that processed grosses me out.

I won't buy them, but if the are served at someone's else house then I'll let the kids eat one. I will decline for myself.

We don't normally eat hot dogs, but she's taken an interest in them after seeing them at a bbq so I got her our store's organic brand nitrite free, uncured beef hot dogs. She was excited to eat one, but hasn't asked for them again. I don't want her eating them often, but this seems like a good compromise.

I get the skinnless Wegmans brand beef hot dogs. I really only just started doing it as a quick, easy meal every once in a while.

Because im not an idoit and know they are totally processed, i also serve them with a fresh fruit smoothie (With baby spinach) or a multi-fruit side and maybe some whole grain puffer things that I forget the name of at the moment.

We buy all of our meat from local farmers. I finally went to visit the people we buy our beef from and discovered they run a small store from their farm. Anyway, as I was browsing their store, I discovered uncured, nitrate free, 100% grass fed beef hot dogs. I bought some because the kids and I love hot dogs. I had a no more hot dogs in my house rule before I found those. They're $5 a pound, but totally worth it to me.

If we're at somebody else's house, the entire family eats whatever hot dogs they are serving.

we get smart dogs or tofu pups and sometime the veggie trader joes corn dogs

I buy the regular ol' Oscar Meyer hotdogs. DD doesn't eat them regularly, maybe once a week and always served with fresh fruit and HFCS-free ketchup. I'm ok with that. Can't be perfect all the time!

We do veggie dogs, Tofurky, lightlife, smart dogs, and tofu pups brands are all good.

We don't eat them at home but I don't mind letting DS have one at his cousin's birthday or our street party because it's part of the experience, YK?
they make me cringe, but yes, the kids can eat them when we are at a picnic, etc. At home I buy and serve the "good" ones. I like them too! Still though, not my first choice for a protein source or meal.

My DD loves the Applegate Farms ones. They're 100% organic with no nasties, so they don't bother me.
