Date Night Movie???

Did anyone see Date Night?

DH and I finally got to go out to see a movie for the first time in several months (our last date night was canceled courtesy of family stomach flu, you know what they say, the family that pukes together...).

Anyway, we laughed our butts off. It was sooo funny. I actually inhaled my water and snorted it out my nose I was laughing so hard.

I also found it helpful b/c DH and I had been butting heads and I was trying to explain to him how stressful it is to be the 'heartstone' of the family as a sahm. Everyone always needs something from me. I can never just be. I have to always be 'on'. Drives me nuts. I haven't had a break in ....forever since we've all been sick in rotation since January (and I was in the hospital).

Tina Fey's character talks about her fantasy not being another man, but being in a hotel room alone with a Diet Sprite. I think DH, hearing her character speak, finally started to realize where I was coming from. He was a lot more considerate of my time the past few days.

So, funny movie. At least for parents like us. And it helped us work through some of our own conflict. Try to see it if you can.

We saw it and loved it. I agree -- very true to how I have felt at times.
