We have spent almost a whole week now going through every cabinet, every drawer, every closet, the attic, the garage, everything and reducing our "stuff". We are clean people and dislike clutter so I was honestly shocked and surprised to find so much clutter and excess hidden away, much stacked neatly in bins. One whole bookshelf full of books was donated to the library, another of magazines. 2 bins of personal paper documents from the file cabinets shredded. Bins of stuff to be recycled, like neat glass bottles from other countries. Many clothes donated. Table and chairs, 2 TV's, lamps, rugs, pictures, etc. are set to go. We are getting ready for a large garage sale, what doesn't sell will be donated, nothing is coming back into our living space. Found gifts cards and some money. Found things that the stores did take back, a few still had the receipts on them, just waiting.
I am thankful we are on the same page as a family. But the word of the month is why.
When did we get so much? I have some ideas; I don't want it to get to this point again. Less is more and now we are both on board and it feels super.
