Right on! Yeah, I hear ya. The first few days, I was definitely walking funky, but now, I'm a bit achy at times, but I think my muscles have woken up and like what's going on.

I was just wondering if Making the Cut could be something that I could incorporate every other day to mix things up or if maybe I should do level 1 one day and then level 2 the next.

What do you all think???

Also, is this our official "3DS - love/hate relationship with Jillian Michaels" thread?
I completed 3DS 5 days/week before moving on to Making the Cut because I wanted to establish a solid foundation of endurance and strength. It's a good thing because MTC is a very demanding workout...for example part of the circuit yesterday involved running 7mph at a 12 degree incline. I thought I was going to die. I was cussing at her, calling her names, but I made it.

That's what so freaking cool about JM. She makes people do things they never thought they could. I never would have set my treadmill at those settings...ever.

So if you have a good level of fitness already, I'd say go for it and mix it up OR just go on to Making the Cut.
You won't get bored.

I just finished my first week of actually doing this 7 days in a row! Every day I´ve did at least part of a second level (almost every day it was all of level 1+ all of level 2) and I upped my weights the last couple of days. Upping the weights has been HARD, I went from breasing through the workouts to really struggling so I think I´ll continue to up the weights slowly until I feel read to do level 1+level3 together. I actually found that the day that I didn´t do level 1 first, level 2 was WAAAAYY harder. Go figure!

Do you need a lot of workout equipment for that?? We don´t belong to a gym and so running for me is just through the park... does she account for that somehow?

Ok I'm going to adopt a sort of bossy BTDT approach with 3DS/MTC.
3-5 pounds is what I used for 3DS. Mostly 5.
The goddess who is Jillian is big on body-weight exercises. As I mentioned in a pp, I am giving myself over to her way of training for the next 60 days.
So, equipment for MTC...I have:
3,5,8,12,15 lb dumbells.
3 levels of resistance bands..light, medium and heavy
A pull up bar that can go in any doorway
A body ball
A treadmill.
So, yes. MTC can be equipment-intensive. BUT if you really study the exercises and look at the muscle groups worked, you can easily substitute with equally effective alternatives.
I am framing this as mindful muscle.

Just finished the 30 Day Shred again , level one. It's getting easier, and crazy as it sounds, I think I'm seeing a physical difference in my tummy already!

Me too! Day 5 under wraps. Best part is I do it in the morning so I have the whole day to feel proud of myself while DH has to do it when he gets home.

Not crazy at all! You should be very proud of yourself!
I'm wearing jeans today that I could barely zip two weeks ago and I'll be working on day 10 this evening - I'm currently on level 2 and plan to do it for another week.
I'm not weighing myself right now, so my only true way of knowing that this is working for me is by the way things are fitting, how I'm feeling, and how things are toning - like my arms, legs and belly. Belly is going to take some time as I'm a little over 3 months PP, but I'm not stoppin'!

I wish I could do it in the morning - get it out of the way!! My time is 8:30 at night - after DS#2 is in bed and DS#1 in his pj's watching me.

I'm glad this is working so well for all of us!

I just finished level one again. It's getting SO much easier already and it's only Day 5! Pretty incredible. I've lost 7lbs!

I have been doing the shred on and off for 20 weeks. I also revamped my diet. I dropped from a size 18 to a 12. just went shopping yesterday and bought 5 various brands of 12s..Wooo hooo. I have been doing it almost daily for 2 weeks and it dropped that last size from 14 to a 12. I mix between level 2 and three and I have been noticing a huge body difference now that I do this regularly instead of once or twice a week. I also went up to 5 lbs weights for some of the exercises. I still can barely do any push ups though. I may never be good at those.

I also love the master your metabolism book. I am looikng to buy her making the cut book soon though.

I am going to try level 3 tommorow!!! I am slightly scared.

Congrats!! That´s awesome!

That´s pretty much what I´m hoping to do (go from size 16 to 10). My pants are certainly fitting a lot better and are even loose now but I don´t think I´ve quite dropped down to size 14, hopefully soon!!!!

I also wanted to ask (sorry, I keep bothering everyone with questions!) but I think I need to adapt the workout a bit. My left knee has been hurting like crazy so I´ve made a few changes. I can´t do full pushúps and the ones on my knees are killing me so I´ve been doing them against the wall. Also I haven´t been going as far down into squats because they hurt. I think it´s just a temporary thing because of the in-laws cement floors... Any other suggestions on helping with a bad knee? Any streches or anything?

Also... the abs/bicep/tricep works don´t seem to be enough. When we get home I´m going to try and get a different set of weights at least when doing the bicep/tricep moves but is there anything else I can do in the meantime? Ditto for abs?

You seem to have the exact same issues I did. I don't do most of the squat work, just focus on the arms, or do tiny tiny movements with the legs. For all the cardio I use a mini rebounder, the difference is amazing as far as impact. I gave up on the shred after two weeks at the beginning because of knee and shin pain, but after I modified the squats and used the rebounder I can do it every day now. For the push ups, I started off a counter. I can now do 10-12 off my knees, but that is it.

I still can't fully finish out some sets in the 1st and 3rd circuts with the 3 pound, but I got 5lbs for the bicep and dumbells type work and chest flys in the second and beginning of third circuts. It has made a big difference in muscle gain.

The rebounder was 30 bucks at walmart and my best exercise investment. Some days I just jog on there for 30 minutes and it works up a big sweat.

I'm looking forward to getting back into this again this week. I missed all of last week due to a "fun" stomach bug/flu that hit me and the kids. After not being able to eat anything the last 3 days, I'm finally just feeling human again today. I'm going to do a few days at level 1 again though... this bug made me really weak, I noticed it today when I attempted to mow the lawn! I'd hate to jump back in at level 2 and go full bore when my body's still recovering.

Yeah, I´ve switched from doing squats to doing static squats instead, that seems to help some. Fortunately, the cardio exercises haven´t been hurting my knee but I think I´ll check out that rebounder just in case!

The only problem is that then I don´t feel like I´m working as hard but I think I´ll up the weights (especially on the biceps) and hopefully that will help some. I was also thinking of substituting leg lifts for some of the squats so I´m still getting some dynamic leg exercise in there. I just have to see where I want to substitute that in.

The thing that frustrates me is that when I´m at a good weight, I never have knee problems. I know it´s just because I´m carrying this extra weight around.

Sounds like everyone is doing very well with this. This week will be my last week for level 2. I'm looking forward to level 3 to really kick my a$$.

I'm still having problems with the static lunges - I hear my knees pop all over the place, but I try to push through to keep going (like she says - if you're having problems with the knees, you can make it as easy as you want or as hard as you want). Gotta keep that heart rate up.

I was a size 10, now I'm an 8 and would like to stay there. Also, I'm 14 weeks PP and I'm super thrilled to be back in my pre-preg size without having to suck it in!

Well, I went backwards last night. Did Level I for a change because I'm not feeling well and really forced myself to do some sort of exercise to keep my body moving. Heck, I think I'm more sore today from Level I than I have been since I've been on Level II! So weird. But I'm gonna ride it out until Sunday and then probably start up Level III and see how that goes....

I just started Level 2 today. I did Level 1 for 8 days but was getting bored. I like Level 2, although I hate, hate, hate mountain climbers. Ugh. While I haven't lost weight, I have lost an inch on my belly and I am noticeably more toned and that's only in 10 days. I can't wait to see the results in 20 more days.

I have been doing level one this week since Tuesday. I am using 8lb weights (all I have) and they really make the workout intense! But, I am really enjoying it.

YAY! Good for you mama!

I don't know if it's the intensity that I'm putting on myself with going back to Level 1 or just the overall workouts are diff than Level 2, but I'm a ton more sore from Level 1 than I have been after workouts from Level 2!! So weird. I'm watching Natalie a bit more now than Anita - maybe that's why?
