Sugar sensitive...xylitol?

I've come to the conclusion that I'm sugar sensitive (aka sugar addict). I'm planning on nixing most of the processed carbs, all of the white stuff, and of course - sugar.

Although, I will say that I'm a vegetarian who loves fruit. i do NOT want to cut down on my fruit intake...but junk, yeah. I'm willing

Is xylitol okay for me? We've used it a lot in the past because of teeth issues with Dd, and I know it's good for diabetics, because it doesn't effect your blood sugar levels. Since the sugar addict thing is a lot to do with blood sugar drops and whatnot, wouldn't it be okay for me to use xylitol?

Not that I'm planning on making tons of junk, lol, but I'm trying to get all my bases covered! Thanks

It's a personal thing. Some people react to it just like they do sugar, some don't. Be very careful with it though, since all of the -tols can cause "gastric distress" if eaten in excess (and one person's excess can be drastically different from another's).

Personally, I avoid it just because it's the same as sugar to me.
