Another "funny/embarrassing story" thread because I want to share

We visited the Science Museum in Boston last week on a vacation. Took my 7 YO DD into the "human body" section. We had recently been discussing pregnancy and sex, so she was drawn to the display on pregnancy -- which was great. Then she gets to male and female anatomy models. I knew I had failed to explain sex properly when she asks, loudly, in a full exhibit hall, "Mommy, do I HAVE to kiss THAT?", pointing, of course, to the man's penis. Oops -- something got lost in translation.

Hilarious!

On a related note, we were cleaning out the garage and my four-year-old ds found a Halloween decoration of an almost life-size skeleton. He noticed right away the tailbone that dips down into the pelvis, and he was saying it was the penis bone. I told him that actually, it was the end of the spine, and that his penis doesn't have a bone inside, that it's muscle and vascular tissue.

With a shocked look on his face, he then asked, "You mean my penis is gonna fall off when I'm dead?" It was the most perfectly Freudian moment of my life.
