favorite hummous recipe?

There are so many hummous recipes out there.

What is your family's favorite? I'd like to get back into making rather than buying hummous. It's so expensive to buy, and it seems silly to buy it actually.

Can hummous be frozen? For how long can it be refrigerated?

I think the great thing about hummus is that it is so versatile. I don't have any exact recipes but the basic ingredients are chick peas, olive oil, dash of water, garlic, lemon juice, salt/pepper, cracked red pepper and sometimes tahini (if I have it). Depending on what I'm feeling like sometimes I'll add dill, a couple of weeks ago I used some fresh parsley and garlic chives from our garden...mixed spices are good including chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic and/or onion powder. Oh, also sesame oil is really good in it too. We really like the hot sesame oil. A dash goes a long way. I have made a raw hummus recipe too, it was good, but took a couple days to sprout the chick peas. After they sprout, just blend like you would the cooked ones.

Here's a recent thread about hummus, with a bunch of suggestions:

This recipe is pretty basic:

I've never had it last once I make it, so I can't answer your questions about freezing or refrigerating, sorry, lol!

FROZEN- we never do it

you can freeze your cooked chickpeas (that makes making it much faster)-olive oil to me does not freeze right and effects taste and texture

Ahaha. So I just made this same thread, but this one didn't come up because I spelled it "hummus"! It even has the same title!
