One blue eye one half brown?

Has anyone ever seen this in their infants? Eden is 2 months old and has had one blue eye and one half brown since the beginning, but it's definitely more pronounced now. I love it, especially if it becomes one brown eye one green (her parents both have green eyes) because I think that's beautiful, but I'm just curious if this is a natural progression towards eye color change, and that it won't stay that way...

Anyone out there experience the same thing?

I had blue eyes with a spot of brown when born. The blue turned light green the brown stayed. It's only 1/4 brown so not terribly noticeable but still there.

I've known kids with one blue eye and one brown. It's really pretty, and gets a lot of attention.

Sounds absoultly amazing and beautiful! Do you share picture on MDC? My daughter has interesting eyes...a slate blue, since birth. I sometimes wonder if it is the tiny bit of american indian creeping in.

I have never seen eyes like your little one...but sounds great!!!

David Bowie has one brown eye and one blue eye

I think I read that his is because the pigment failed to develop in one of his eyes....?

Actually, David Bowie has one permanently dilated pupil from an accident as a teenager, causing his eyes to look like they're different colors.

My sister has a brown eye and a hazel-green eye. They're so beautiful!

Having eyes of two different colors is called Heterochromia. It is often an inherited trait, but in some cases it can be an indicator of disease, so it may be something to ask your doctor about.

Not very unique.

Fairly common in merled dogs (such as blue merle Shelties, Collies, Aussies etc).

It comes with the merling gene (which dilutes black to gray, dark brown to light brown, and can also turn brown eyes to blue).

DS has one eye that's very clearly blue and one that's green or blue, depending on the light and the greenish one has some noticeable brown parts in it. I fully expected him to have brown eyes because I'm Indian and every. single. person in my family has brown eyes, except for one green-eyed great aunt. When I first noticed the brown spot, at about 3 weeks, I thought it was the beginning of an eye color change, but he's 1 now and it's still exactly the same...if anything, the blue & green parts have just become more defined. This past January, I noticed that DH's maternal grandmother also has green eyes with those brown spots in them, so I'm guessing that's where he got them from.

My guy has had blue/grey eyes since birth, but his left eye was about 1/4 brown. At 8 mos, that eye is almost 1/2 brown now, but the rest are still changing between blue and grey.

But, my grandma said that my mother's eyes were one color until she was about 4, and then they changed. So anything is possible.
