I've found affordable safe paints!!

I am just so happy with this stuff that I am telling other mamas who might be looking for something like this!! The stuff is called "GLOB" which I ordered in the budget-friendly powder packets and mixed with water in baby food jars to make beautiful all natural safe paints for my kids!! Then we had a wonderful backyard paint day!

I put the pictures up on our blog!

I hope I'm sharing in the right place - I suppose this could go under safety issues since most of the paints for kids in the stores come from China and are filled with all sorts of things I don't want my children playing with.

My 19 month old of course got paint all over her skin and even stuck the paintbrush into her mouth a couple times - SO GLAD I didn't let her play with store-bought paints!

Those look REALLY nice, thanks for the link!

Do you have any idea about how washable they are? My problem with the food based dyes is that they can be impossible to remove. I have pretty much purged all the toxic crap out of our house, with the exception of art supplies I usually stick with Crayola washable stuff because I am so concerned with staining.

Not sure about washable as far as clothing and walls, etc... I just put out a big paint canvas over our grass in the back yard, dressed them in play clothes and let them have at it

YES!!! My son is sensitive to wheat - of course he's old enough I'm not as worried about him eating it but since they both have eczema as well it's probably good that their skin won't get anything they are sensitive to on them. And we are not sure if dd is sensitive to wheat yet so (since she DID stick the stuff in her mouth) that's good.

Next I'm going to try to switch to some natural crayons or beeswax or something for indoor use.
