Water ultrasound and FET?

Hey ladies!

So I'm going for my third FET. The last one was 6 years ago and it seems like a lot has changed since then. My doctor has ordered a water ultrasound to be done next week. . . I've read it's really awful and I've read it's no big deal. What has been you experience?

Also it seems like I don't have to do the estrogen and progesterone shots for as long. I thought I remembered at least a month or two of shots pre-transfer, and though I won't get my protocol til after the u/s next week, it's sounding like only a couple of weeks of shots (and prog. suppositories. . .and of course they'll continue if it works).

It really feels like it's been a lifetime since we did this!

I don't have any good advice on the water ultrasound. I'm having one next week and I'm nervous. We're doing the same as you, sono/FET cycle. My protocol is 21 days of oral BCP, starting Lupron shots on day 16 and continuing about ten days, then estrogen patches for I think they said 18 more days, then transfer+progesterone shots.

What I had was a SIS Saline Sono-hystogram. The RE I was seeing did this in place of an HSG. Is that what you mean. It was a little uncomfortable, but not bad. As far as things changing over the years.......I think with IF even when you think you know what to expect, there are always surprises.

Thank you leslie, that's what it sounds like. I don't know if I'm more nervous about the procedure or the results. I'm happy they're doing it, though. It will be good to know what's going on in there.

Your protocol sounds more like what I did before, but I thought the doctor said we would do the transfer at the end of June or beginning of July, and I'm not on anything yet. Maybe I misheard him. So true leslie. . . you really just can't count on things going a certain way!

Mine is Friday too! How funny. It's possible they're doing a different suppression regimen with you. My RE seems to like a good long suppression period before a cycle. The way I worked out the numbers I think my transfer will be approximately July 17.
