So the first installment of this story was the neurologists didn't 'see' anything wrong with DD.

Which is fine. Good news even. Except DD still has issues using her left leg.

And dystonia is probably still on the table, but the neurologists aren't considering it I don't believe as of yet--but of all the neurological diagnoses it seems to 'fit' best if we are going to have an official neurology based diagnosis.

Since that appointment, I've watched DD. She still falls randomly and spontaneously. Still can't use the left leg on steps, but seems otherwise normal.

DH says all the injuries/falls are normal and my retort is kids should scrape their knees doing something, not from falling while just standing still.

So we've increased her activity level and keep encouraging her to use her left leg on steps whenever possible in the hopes that will help. There has been ZERO improvement.

I then had a conversation with a mom from DH's 'home country' who told me hip dysplasia is so prevalent they screen all babies via ultrasound--multiple times. I am NOT sure she's accurate in her statement based on the googling I've done thus far, but what the heck, I'm open to new ideas.

I also supposedly had hip dysplasia as an infant, but am trying to confirm that for sure.

Oddly enough, back in October I asked DD's then ped about her left leg b/c it was clicking. They palpated etc.. and it was 'fine'. Yet here we are!

Between the hip dysplasia conversation and DD's failure to show any improvement, I called the ped back and asked what the next step should be.

We are going to screen her for dysplasia and work the orthopedic side of things. From there, I'm not sure what happens. I would like to try physical therapy and see if we can pin point which muscles are weak, but perhaps there's an intermediate step the ped would rather take before PT, I'm not sure.

So that's the scoop with my DD. Poor thing is going to have a mass of scars on her left knee from falling...somewhat similar to her momma (but mine I banged up falling off my bike or falling while running, you know, doing something.)

I just needed to get it out. Thanks for reading!
