1 year old still 98% ebf -should I worry?

My dd didn't have ANY interest in food till she was 10 months old. I mean NONE. Now she is a year old and she will pick at some peas and corn but she still doesn't seem very eager about it.

Should I worry about this? When should I start to? It seems like babies this age are eating solid food for 3 meals by now. I offer her food every meal and she mostly just looks at it and then drops it to the ground.

What do you think?

My DD didn't get really into solids until about 12-14 months. I'd say just so long as you offer solids a few times a day and nurse on demand you're good.

My DD is the same way. She's starting to get more interested in food, so there has been progress.

Honestly I'm not too worried. It's not that unusual, and she'll get there eventually.

Just keep offering and someday she may surprise you! Tonight I was surprised at how much chicken DD ate, and she scarfed down a handful of cooked baby carrots too!

At that age, we definitely had days where my dd didn't eat any food at all. I offered her food and sometimes she wanted it, sometimes she didn't. I've read (in this forum, I think!) that the main source of nutrition up to age 2 is breastmilk or formula/milk. So I didn't worry about food at all until age 2. And I still don't worry, actually! My daughter is almost 26 months old and still some days doesn't eat a ton of food. (And other days eats like crazy!)

My daughter is now 22 months old but she really wasn't interested in solid foods at 1 year old. She picked but maybe had less than an ounce of solids when we offered it.

She has solids now but not larges chunks. She prefers soft foods while kids her age that aren't breastfed seem to enjoy whole blueberries and other foods.

She seems to be thriving though so I'm not too worried.

DS was the same way at that age. He didn't really get into solids until 14-15 months old or so. I would just keep offering solids and not worry too much as long as her weight and health remain optimal.

DS didn't eat anything much until I cut back on nursing him.

I would keep offering food, but not stress over it.

IMO and IME it's totally fine.

We actually were shooting for a full year without "food", on our ND's suggestion (given the early food given to me and DH, and given our problems with those EXACT foods now), but at just beyond 11 months he decided that enough was enough. Pushed me over, grabbed my organic apple, took a bite, chewed and swallowed it.

Had some flirtations with pears, and then just sort of gave up for quite awhile.

We never really even offered, just waited until he was interested again.

Very very very healthy new 6 year old, strong, very tall (despite DH being average (and the tallest in his family) and me being only 5'3")...still haven't gotten apologies from the family and friends who poo-pooed our crazy ideas!

My DD was exactly the same at that age--no interest in solids at all. She ate a few bites a day when she was a year old, I think. Now at 27 months she eats like a horse (six meals a day)--and still nurses a ton, too. Technically they don't really need anything from solid food (except maybe iron) until they're over a year old.

Thank you all so much for helping me feel better. I was so worried because it seems like my dd is the only one not chowing down solids at this age. It's nice to know that she isn't alone.

My 3rd was like this - seemed like all he wanted to do was nurse until he was about a year and a half, then he started eating decent amounts. He continued nursing until he was 3, but had a better diet by then.

My 9 yr old is named Denae.
