Thermometer

I have been using an underarm digital one, but my DS cries and moves around so much while I try to take his temperature, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. I don't even bother checking his temperature, I just know when he feels really warm and he might have a fever. But then if I end up taking him to the doctor's they always ask what his temp. was and I feel like they could tell what's bugging him better if they knew if it was an actual fever or he was just feeling warm.

What kind of thermometers do you all use for your babies?

We have this one. I chose it mainly for the speed. A one second reading is great with a squirmy-worm infant!

I bought the Exergen Temporal Artery thermometer.

I wanted something that would not wake my child when sleeping. I haven't tried it yet though.

Toys R Us/ BRU had a coupon last month where it was half off ($25) and the company has a $5 rebate I got out of a baby magazine, so I couldn't pass up the deal.

I want one of the temporal artery thermometers. that's what our ped's office uses. I've heard that aural (ear) thermometers aren't accurate for children under 2, I'm not sure if that is true or not. right now we use a regular digital to take an axillary temp. I try to do it when ds is nursing so he doesn't wiggle away
