back carry in Beco

Thread Starter
My DS is 11months old and I want to try the back carry in the Beco, I only ever have once, but I'm so afraid that he will flip out of it. He loves to lean all the way back and look up when he is in front, so he probably would that when he's on my back too. Is that possible, for him to flip out for the Beco? Or does it just feel like that?

My dd is a leaner too and we back carry in the beco. As long as you have the beco adjusted snugly (ie not crazy loose) I don't think flipping out is possible. The carrier comes up too high on dd's back for her to flip backwards.

I back carry my 16mo in the Beco - he can't get out of it no matter how hard he tries! The back comes up way too high, and if its snug enough it keeps him in place way better than the Ergo that I used to use (I think his dad still uses it some, but he was never a fan of back carries so I don't know if they do them)

We haven't been using it long but dd and I haven't had any issues with the back carry. She typically ends up crashing out with her head leaning all the way back - which doesn't look comfortable to me - but I just put on the head cover and keep going

Ds is a leaner and a weight-shifter. He loves to all of a sudden fling all of his body way over to my side. I wear him pretty much constantly in the Beco and he's happy as a clam, until of course he wants a front carry so he can snack.
