blisters on the tips of fingers?

I just noticed this morning that my DS (10 mos) has blisters on the tips of about half his fingers and a thumb. The one on his thumb looks like it burst. They aren't red or pussy and he doesn't seem bothered by them at all. He won't let me grab his hands and inspect them but that's normal. He learned to crawl a couple weeks ago...could they be from rubbing on the ground? Using his hands in a new way? He hasn't touched anything hot that I know of. He would have cried, right? It just seems weird. Any thoughts?

this is OP, they aren't little individual blisters. The entire tip of his finger is one big blister. There isn't any redness around the edge of the blister and he has no other blisters or redness in his mouth, feet or throat. No fever...it's just weird. I originally thought hand/foot/mouth but there just isn't any other symptoms and the blisters don't look like any of the pictures I saw.
