TTC #1 in our 30s--May June bring baby joy! - Page 3

meander--birth control pills always broke me out, too. You're almost done with them, though!

AmandaMom--glad your IUI went well. Fingers crossed for you!

AFM, I am on CD 5. My cramps usually get a little better after AF is finished, but this time around I feel like I'm just getting ready to start. I really don't think it's fair that I have had cramps every day of my life since I was 9 years old, and now apparently they are going to be the very-painful-and-all-my-internal-organs-are-falling-out kind of cramps every day. Ah, well.

I saw the heartbeat today...

I freaked out this morning and called the RE...they had me in and under the ultrasound within 2 hours! Wow!

So, there's a baby! And there's a heartbeat!

I am just so overwhelmed and joyful!

Oh, and just one!

Can I jump on board here too? I'm 37 (and so is DH) and we're TTC #1 since 03/10 - not charting yet and just trying to see what happens for now though I think we have a good shot at it this month... we'll know by next week. I'm holding out to test until Sunday 6/13. Both my sisters have used these boards through both their pregnancies (two each), so I'm excited to find a group too. Thanks!

I love your question. My vision is not so much of myself (is that weird?). My visions are of my father in law, parents, grandma, sister and siblings in law, all enjoying my child/ren. It is so important to me that my child/ren be able to meet, live, love and enjoy all of those that have most influenced my life and that they know who i am and where their father and i came from. Just this past weekend I was at my father in law's and i had visions of him playing lovingly with our children. I can't wait for it to be a reality.
Hi everyone - I have been through hell and back since my last post which i just quoted. So strange to think where i am now after last week's post about my vision of my father in law and our children. We found him thursday night on the floor and he had a massive stroke and brain blled and now is brain damaged, has a speech impediment and some paralysis. He is awake from his coma but we don't know what the extent of the damage is. It is all so terribly sad. I expect months of rehab and then he will come live with us. this is going to change my life forever and my ttc plans. we were supposed to have an iui on saturday but obviously did not and did not try during my fertile time. i am thinking of scheduling my laparascopy for the 24th of june. i need to have it to remove endometriosis from my right ovary. i would like to do it asap bc i need to heal so we can move july 31st into a house that will be wheel chair accessible. Has anyone had a lap? i am wondering how long i need to wait to have intercourse and/or ttc again after a lap. i will ovulate approximately 10 days after my surgery. i think they may also do a dnc at the same time. i know i will ask my dr but personal experiences usually make me feel so much better. care to share?

iheartmyfamily taking care of an ill loved on can be very hard. My heart goes out to you.

Oh iheartmyfamily, I am so sorry on all accounts. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. I don't have any lap experience other than narrowly avoiding one that I didn't wind up needing. I wish you an easy procedure, an easy move, a quick rehab for your Father-in-Law, and that this new adventure is fulfilling and brings you and your DH even closer. Again, I am sorry.

I'm so sorry iheartmyfamily, that is rough.

Welcome Mommel, for you.

iheartmyfamily- thinking about you and sorry you have to go through this.

Jenne- yay! heartbeats are so reassuring!

Adorkable- doing great! Had an u/s last week and baby is looking good (and big!). Second trimester is definitely something to look forward to! The fatigue has lifted quite a bit and I'm feeling great. Just started wearing maternity clothes, which is fun.

iheartmyfamily - I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Just know I am thinking of you and your family, and I'm certain before long your FIL will be playing with your child/ren lovingly.

Mommel - Welcome! I hope you are blessed with great news on Sunday!

Adorkable & Jenne - How are you both feeling? Any major pregnancy symptoms? I feel the need to live vicariously through you until I get my own BFP!

AFM, 3dpo and already anxious. I just have to remind myself how much harder waiting to O is. This 2WW is a breeze compared to that!

I'm so sorry about your father in law. I'm sending you big supportive healing vibes!

I had a lap in January, and they removed an endometroid cyst. They told me I had to wait 8 weeks after the surgery to TTC, but that may have been conservative. I was back to work six days later, but able to start moving around and doing moderate activities two-three days later. It was kind of nice (blush) to have the forced pause and be allowed to lie in bed for a few days. The surgery itself was fine, and I remember how nervous I was before-hand. One word of caution: when you wake up you may have pain in your shoulders which is totally normal - it's a response to the gas they use to help them have more room inside during the surgery. You also may be nauseous from the anesthesia. These things were pretty bad for me, but it really helped to know that they were totally normal, that they would go away, and that nothing was wrong inside. I'm so sorry you're going through all this! Please feel free to pm me if you have more questions. I'm thinking of you!

I went out today and bought a bunch of OPKs *and* a thermometer. I'm not playing around any more...next cycle, it is ON.
Assuming I can temp regularly enough, and that the OPKs say something, of course.

meander- Welcomes to the fold of driven nuts TTC! I think you'll really enjoy it! Best of luck!

Adorkable- My symptoms had (and are still) vanished! No more nausea. No more fatigue. No more heartburn. No more strange dreams. No more waking in the night to pee. The ultrasound tech at the INFERTILITY clinic was just idiotic, "Most women don't even know they are pregnant until 8 weeks because there are no symptoms." Okay, lady, whatever. You are asking me to believe that at an infertility clinic women aren't testing from days after their treatment? Riiiigggghhhhtttt. Turns out the Metanx can make symptoms go away from, I guess, the high doses of B6/B12. I found this on the internet. Doc didn't say a word about it. But, we have a picture and I'm trying to be positive! How are you feeling?

AmandaMom- Hang in there! How are you feeling?

Newbian Mama- I hope things are well in your world!!!

I heartmyfamily, all the healing thoughts for my FIL and yourself. My best friends father had two big strokes and they originally said he would remain paralyzed, but he got very good therapy and now just has weekness but is doing super good, and being around and later caring for his new grandson as he lived with them for a while really helped him.
Stay positive, and fight for constant therapy, including an occupational therapist, they are a bit different than PT's and some specialize in this sort of thing. Most insurance will start to give up and stop owing apoiments if he shows no more progress, but he will have plateus and needs to work thru them, how the therapist charts him will determine if insurance keeps paying.
My DH is a OT assistant, hence my info.

Meander, are you going to temp vaginally? Have you read the charting lessons on fertility friend? I recommend both things for a good start.

Jenne, yeah it's crazy how feeling fine can freak us out, I have to keep telling myself that I'm happy i can eat and not get sick!! Yeah and anyone in an infertility clinic knows right away!!!!!! But she is right that tons of ladies that are " normal" just simply don't. I saw a coworker of my DH yesterday, she is due right around you ( she thinks ) and just found out, so so strange.

AFM- still waking up super early, but now hitting a fall a few hours later and wanting to sleep all the time. Specially after i eat, I just want to stretch my stomach nice and open and sleep.
DH got his updated orders for the move to DC we go in early Sept. We had asked to be pushed back a month to accommodate our summer schedules and got approved. so now I'm just working on our countdown todo list, it's huge and daunting.
And i am looking at various methods of birth throning and starting to like hypnobabies more and more. So I'm reading a lot about those options and others.

Hey Everyone,

Just started TTC this month!! I'm 32, newly married, and ready! My best friend is 8 weeks preggo with her first, so it would be awesome if we had our first around the same time. We'll see

Oddly enough, I felt nauseous 2 days ago, and this morning I had some small spotting. I ovulate tomorrow and we've been DTD all week. I never feel nauseous and I never spot so it's strange to have this happen the very first month we're trying to conceive. I had my IUD out 6 weeks ago, and even that barely caused any blood.

I looked it up and evidently sometimes people spot around ovulation and it's supposed to be a good sign of fertility. We'll see

Also, my husband is gone for the next 4 days, so odds are, if it didn't happen this week, then it won't until next cycle, which is fine. But it's crazy to wait now!!

Anyway, excited to be part of the club!

Fertile Myrtle
