Usually, our night time routine with baby is a bath, a good feeding and then off to bed around 9pm. Lately, he usually sleeps until 1 or 2am. However, is it normal for a 2.5 month baby to awake in the middle of the night calm and quiet, lying in crib, moving his hands and legs, some grunts, but not crying. When I hear him stirring at 1 or 2am I pick him up, change and feed him. Afterwards, I try rocking him to sleep, but he's too awake. He's not fussy, just more difficult to put down. If I do put him back in bed, he goes back to grunting, moving around. Sometimes, I let him do this for awhile, but never cries. Lately, I've just put him in his swing and eventually (like 1/2 hour) he doses off. I leave him there until he wakes up again. Same routine, he wakes quietly, some grunts, but looks like he's just lying there stretching out moving legs and arms.
Is this normal? No crying when he awakes?
