Knitting at Jury Duty?

I have jury duty on Monday. Will they let me bring my knitting?

Yes, but but they will probably request that you only do it during the waiting times, not during the actual trial, or when the attourneys or judge are addressing potential jurors. I always have brought a book when I am called.

I dont know if you can get the metal thru security, (it could be considered a weapon) are you using metal needles or bamboo?

I have metal but was thinking of purchasing bamboo because of the security thing. (I have been wanting some anyway)

I know that here they'll let you bring in crochet hooks, but not knitting needles. Bizarre. I'd call ahead and ask.

Call ahead. I've been denied and allowed my knitting at the same courthouse a few months apart.

I called and they said, no knitting needles because of the point on them but crochet hooks are OK. Didn't matter anyway since my group got excused. Thanks for all your replies though!
