I just slice the zucchini kind of thin (maybe 1/8-1/4"?), sprinkle a little sea salt on, and throw them in the dehydrator. They're pretty delicious- a nice crunchy/salty snack.
Cool, gotta try that. And yeah, a bit carried away...but I like them small so I use them up faster (or that was the theory...at this point, I need to CATCH them small!)

Trying to be less pessimistic, so I'm going to say what I want to manifest.
I am full of energy! My kids have been total angels all day! DS3 isn't climbing AT ALL. DS2 has behaved himself completely appropriately in the kitchen for the last few days and hasn't melted down about treats even once! DS1 has played outside without a single complaint AND without constant nagging questions about when he can go on the computer/watch tv/play video games. My foot is in GREAT shape- I can dance ballet on it! (Ok, that last one was just too much. )
That feels so much better! Ah, what a great way to vent! Thanks, ladies!
let me know if that works! I actually scrubbed my toilet today! And my house is clean. Now if I could psyche myself out to debone the turkey that is suddenly grossing me out! I think I'm gonna have to ask my mom to do it for me.

I don't know how much is actual growth, vs just stimulating and improving. It was made out to be a good thing - as in, if you don't have e ough CCK, your pancreas will atrophy and stop working so well. Nursing increases CCK in babies too, iirc, and that seems like a good thing. It's unscientific midsummer

Today is dh and my 7th anniversary. That number seems so big He's taking the day off work and were going to attempt Chinese food for dinner - egg rolls, Vietnamese spring rolls, shrimp balls and sesame balls. We'll see what we actually end up with...
I haven't read about the mice. My brain is officially fried for now. Funny how a couple of broken toes is effecting my brain...
Happy anniversary!!! Oh man. I just imagined your DH in a top hat with tails. Oh heavens... (eta; I should add here that I imagined him in the pose he has as his FB profile pic in a top hat with tails.... juggling. Don't ask. I don't know. But it was FUNNY. )
Eat some for me! I've been wanting it for a few months now.

That's so something he would actually do, too No top hat at the wedding, though. I'll suggest he make it part of his magic act if he ever gets into performing

What's wrong with hugging her bladder?

Happy anniversary Shannon!

I don't know wth is going on around here. I am sick. Again. Second time in 2 weeks after being remarkably (for me) healthy for the past couple years. I had major sinus drainage yesterday, and then last night got REALLY dizzy before bed, and it continued all night (even rolling over in my sleep got the room spinning!) This morning I took a bunch of extra C and zinc, and I think that helped the sinuses... but now I'm nauseous.

Anyway- DD was a little bit crazy yesterday, but I thought it was just from being cooped up in the house all day because I was feeling crappy. But she slept HORRIBLE last night, and has been a monster all day. And just went down for her nap a bit ago, when she normally falls asleep around 10 or 11am. I have absolutely no idea what's going on with her. She ate avocado yesterday, but that's day 5 I think of eating it. I ate bacon, but again- done that before with no major side effects. No tomato yesterday, so that's not it. We've taken the last 3 days off the pancreas glandulars because I wanted to see if the bumps on her face would go away (they're still there, but a tiny bit better, so now I'm really perplexed.) So it's not a reaction from the pancreas....

On a more positive note, I got my hair chopped off on Saturday (shortest I've ever had it!! It's taking some getting used to, but I'm glad to be rid of the lenth) and put henna in for about 4 hours yesterday, so it's nice and red. And the weather is finally nice here... if only I could go out and enjoy it. (so much for my positive note, huh?)

Oh- we're going for a NAET consultation tomorrow and may start treatment at the same time. Someone posted the link to this guy in another thread, and I finally checked him out. Says he can cure ana allergies, and has patient testimonials to back him up, so... we'll see.

Sorry you are feeling crappy. Lord knows we could all use a break.

Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow. We are supposed to go to CT for a followup on Thur but DH just announced he has customer issues out the wing wang. I can't wrangle 2 kids & meet with the ND at the same time. My kids are just not that well behaved.

Sorry about the appointment Carren- that's a bummer.

I meant dd reacting to the henna. Or maybe she's getting sick herself? Oh wait. There was something I was reading? Watching? About PANDAS or something like that, where the kid doesn't mount a typical sick reaction to something like strep, and so you go by behavioral stuff instead. I think it was one of the autism conference speakers. And when they're acting off, and someone else is sick, if you can manage a culture it'll often times come back positive for strep. Let me see if I can find the link.

And our Chinese food? Dd just fell asleep. At 5. Not sure what that means for the dinner menu...

Here. I'm pretty sure it was the second one, Gut Biology, Pathology, and Treatment Strategies

Did I post about ds's 2 mo well baby visit? Dd wanted to go, and she's been afraid of doctors, so we though hey, great, she can watch them check ds and it wont be scary at all. Right? She FREAKED, and cried and hid the whole time, which made ds cry. So I had to crying, needy little ones, while trying to talk to the doc. At least it was my doc, not dd's (family practice, you end up with different docs a lot), so maybe now she has a better idea of my motivation behind all my craziness. Fun times. All that to say, you're a wiser mama than I, chlobo, to know in advance that you can't take two kids in without backup!

Because it already feels like someone (or something) is hugging my bladder!

Man, I wish I was in CT so I could help you!!

Last night my half-brother and his wife, who are visiting, told DH and I to go out to dinner and they'd watch our kids and my niece (who is also visiting, different brother is father). So we went to my favorite restaurant. They had a chef's 5-course dinner that DH was eyeing. The hostess was at our table (wife of chef) and I said, "yeah, but he couldn't do it for me, could he?" And she said, "What can't you have - dairy, gluten, soy, corn?" (great memory from last summer, eh?) so she came back and said yup, he could do it.

Gazpacho (cold cucumber and radish soup - seemed like it was just pureed, with a little onion in it maybe, and cumin) - really good - never had gazpacho before

peas and bacon (they make their own bacon with local pig) Fresh garden peas that were just chopped, so some of the peas fell out, and sauteed with the bacon. Fantastic. I could have eaten a bushel of it.

lamb with turnip, maybe tomato, in a gravyish thing, and the tops were still on the turnips. Everything about that was great except the lamb. I think I really just don't like it.

seared wild striped bass with sauteed gigante beans (never had them before, really big tan like lima beans, kalamata olives, broccoli rabe).

chilled strawberry soup (that just seemed like pureed strawberries, with whole strawberry garnish)

Now on the gazpacho, DH's had a little dollop of creme fresh (don't remember how to spell it) on his, and on the sea bass, his had a little sprinkle of parmesan on top. Those were the only differences. I've never done that where I have no idea what I'm getting, basically trusting someone else. And everything was safe and fantastic (except the lamb, sorry Jessica, I always think of you while I'm eating it though!).

And while my brother and his wife are here, they've been helping me cook, doing dishes (so the kids are happy) and watching kids swim, so it's been nice. They leave tomorrow though, and they're moving to Missouri so I'm sad. They were the ones who always made sure all the food was safe whenever we went to their house. And took my kids for overnights where I knew they were eating safe food.

...is there a drooling smilie somewhere...?

Speaking of cold soups- I just saw a recipe for borscht, which I've never had. Is it good? Should I try it when I pull some beets out of my garden?

Never tried it. But I like beets (I'm sure I've mentioned that none of the golden beets that I planted came up, right?)

Oh and www.dogtorj.com has lots of new information on his site since he switched it from .net a while ago. Lots of info about corn and stuff. And how those bad 4 harm the villi, etc. and how the foods are different now than the original foods (like the corn today from the corn hundreds of years ago, etc.).

I enjoyed borscht the one time I was privileged to try it.

Oy, the feces has hit the aerator!

Anyone wants to be let in on the drama feel free to PM b/c it's a storm over here...

I long for the days when my friends told me I was the most drama free person they had ever met. (Except I think they were sorta telling me I was a nerd.)
Jane. Hope it gets better soon.

I don't want to make you tell the story 17 times, but if you're group PMing people, count me in.
