Children's Wish Foundation

I just wanted to post an (overdue) update, since I mentioned a few months ago that my three year old was referred to Children's Wish Foundation for a wish. They are granting her wish, so at the end of August, we are going to Disney World for a week. We'll be staying at Give Kids the World Village. The whole family is pretty psyched... it should be fun. It gives us something to look forward to all summer, which is good since she has an MRI the first week of October and I'm really nervous about it. She hasn't had one in quite a while.... anyways Disney gives me something else to think about all summer.

Oh, and her 'actual' wish is to "Go to Disney and see Barney", so CWF is organizing a meet and greet with Barney. I'm sure my 10 and 6 year old sons will be thrilled... lol. Gotta snap a shot of the boys with Barney... I can use it to blackmail them into doing their homework!

That's fantastic! Your family will have a wonderful time, where are you staying? (I'm familiar with the resorts, not trying to stalk you. )

LOL, stalk to you hearts content, analog! Just kidding...

We are going to stay at Give Kids the World... our wish coordinator really encouraged us to choose it, as they go the extra mile for the wish kids.... eeek, I'm starting to get excited! No so excited about a 7am flight with kids, but very much so about dd's dream week. It should be cool.

We were in Orlando last fall with our kids. Barney has a show at one of the Universal parks. They're smaller, but I thought they were totally worth the trip over there from WDW. My sons got to meet Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat! My kids were way more into Seuss Landing than any single part of WDW, although Buzz Lightyear was a pretty close second.

Ticket prices are cheaper than WDW by a lot.

I'd trade a couple of days in WDW for a couple of days at Universal anytime.

How wonderful for you and your family! I love the various wish organizations. I used to work with Make A Wish as a volunteer "fairy godmother". I loved it.
