I did it!

Or maybe I should say I didn't do it! I didn't spend a thing...went to the shops yesterday and noticed there was a huge Clearance sale of clothes. I could see throngs of women going through racks of clothes etc...and I all I could think was eeek more clutter, whereas in the past I would have been right in there with them looking for more clothes that I don't need!

I don't want to go overboard and say I'll never go to another sale, thus missing out on things I might need at a time when they are going for rock bottom prices, but at this stage I really think staying away from sales completely is the best approach for me.

Just wanted to share my progress, a shift in attitude.

Thanks Jen!

I wondered after posting if it had been too trivial to have shared...but it felt like a major achievement for me.

Yay!

I've never been that in to shopping and sales, especially with "throngs of women" (eek!) but I understand the pull. Just walking through JCPenneys tonight looking for a swimsuit I was feeling the urge to look at other clothes I don't need. I am pretty good at resisting that urge, and I agree that decluttering and recognizing that you already have enough clothes or whatever really helps with that attitude shift.

It was like oooo sleeveless shirts for $6...no, you already have sleeveless shirts. You're wearing one right now. Keep walking.
