question on how DIY nursing tank top

Hey crafty momma's!

So I am expecting my first child and plan to breastfeed. I have noticed how expensive nursing clothes cost and found that nursing tank tops are the way I want to go. So my question for you is this: I am thinking this will be easy to duplicate. Buy some fitted cotton tank tops and cut a hole. I'm just not sure how to reinforce the cut, so that it won't fray. Any suggestions/tips?

TIA

What I liked the first time around and plan on doing again is to just buy some spaghetti strap camisoles and wear them under regular shirts. Lift the top shirt up and pull the camisole down a little and you can nurse without feeling all exposed. Worked like a charm and there was no sewing involved.

Agreed!  That is exactly what I did and it worked out great!
